Spring Tone celebrates the essence of springtime and the blooming of flowers. In the first part, attendees will enjoy the soulful melodies of German Lieder by F. Mendelssohn and Brahms, accompanied by a piano interlude with music by R. Schumann. This first part evokes the freshness of the season, with a recurring theme of flowers and the awakening of spring. In the second part, the audience will experience the captivating opera duets of Tchaikovsky, Delibes, and Offenbach. Attendees are invited to join for an evening of music that captures the beauty and vitality of springtime.

Oscillation ::: Materia Forma New Oscillation (https://www.oscillation-festival.be/) edition, new format ::: after online, nomadic and sedentary editions, we're in for six days of sound celebrations. The marathon edition? Those who have been following us for some time know that this range is not a try-out for the Q-O2 crew. Those concerned about physical effects, sleep deprivation, and sonic saturation? Don't worry, the evenings will be intense, but, concise. This year's edition is hosted by VK Vaartkapoen in Molenbeek, complemented with outings to B.A. in Anderlecht and the Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Molenbeek-Saint-Jean Church. The six days feature concerts, (in-situ) performances, a conference, round table conversations, walks, and a series of workshops. T This year, we reflect on form, format and performance. The self-evidence of an active performance linked to music has been altered with the ubiquity of electronic instruments and forms of amplification, which has also resulted in a larger variety of concert formats. Yet, absence of activity on stage does not equate to an absence of performance: objects might take that role, everyday events can be framed to perform themselves, sounds may exist as forms in themselves. Les Jazz au Marché sont de retour et pour ce premier rendez-vous de la saison, nous vous emmenons en Afrique de l'Ouest, avec l'excellent Zouratié Koné Ensemble, pour partager les rythmes et les chants du Burkina Faso, du Sénégal, de Côte d’Ivoire, du Niger, du Mali et de Guinée. Zouratié Koné, chanteur, musicien et fabriquant d’instruments de musique, est née à Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso et a vécu au Mali et en Côte d’Ivoire. Maître percussionniste issu d’une famille de Griots et éduqué dans une culture orale, ce musicien hors pair s’est approprié de multiples instruments de la tradition ouest-africaine :djembé, dundun, talking drum, longa, kora, ngoni, balafon. Ouverture de la terrasse dès 11:00 pour l'apéro et petite restauration, début du concert vers 13:00. TCHA LIMBERGER ( VIOLIN), RENÉ BIKAR ( BRÁCS), VILMOS CSIKOS ( DOUBLE BASS) Tcha’s trio of Budapest musicians causes a sensation, with bursts of soaring musical tragedy and czardas madness delivered with an astounding purity of sound and hardly imaginable depth of musical dialogue. In true Budapest gypsy style they switch between soaring intensity and smouldering pathos delivering a passion and technical virtuosity that astounds. MAGYAR NÓTA is music actually composed by the Hungarian nobility, to liven up their noble feasts and parties. They were looking in the 19th century for Hungarian music, that had to be less primitive than the traditional Hungarian music, which was only played by the illiterate peasants. So they invented a new style, based on elements of Hungarian folk music, both textual and melodic-harmonic, all played with a classical Western European sound. They hired gypsy musicians to come and live with them at the castles, where they should learn to play violin, double bass, clarinet and cimbalom in a classical way. Then they should make the new repertoire into one of the most highly regarded forms of popular music. ‘I myself started to learn that style because the Sinti, Gypsies from western Europe, including my own family, very much look up to, and love, this Hungarian music. Manouche and Sinti used to copy that style, but without the necessary know-how and especially without the Hungarian language, which one needs very much to be able to interpret that style well. This is why I started to learn Hungarian at the age of 20 and spent a year and a half in Budapest to master this music. I then founded the Tcha Limberger's Budapest Orchestra. For this concert we speak of the Budapest Ensemble, since it consists of not more than three musicians. ********** Français ********** Née d'une famille cosmopolite, Joe Bel a grandi en voyageant entre les Alpes françaises, la mer Méditerranée et l'Amérique du Nord. Elle développa un amour pour la musique dès son plus jeune âge après avoir été bercée par les vinyles de Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Otis Redding, ainsi que les chants traditionnels judéo-espagnols chers à la famille. Instinctive et autodidacte, Joe fait ses tous premiers pas sur scène seule à la guitare en 2012, juste après la naissance de son premier enfant, à l’âge de 23 ans. Quelques mois plus tard, Asaf Avidan découvre sa soul folk envoûtante et lui offre toutes les premières parties de sa tournée européenne. Son EP remarqué, « Hit the Roads », lui a permis de se produire à travers l'Europe et jusqu'au Japon. En 2020, attendant son deuxième enfant, elle se lance dans l’écriture de son deuxième opus, « Family Tree » : une exploration à la recherche de ses origines multiples, alliant folk, mélodies entêtantes et couleurs méditerranéennes. À travers un son toujours organique, en anglais et en français, mais également en ladino, ancien espagnol que parlait encore son grand-père, elle choisit de se dévoiler un peu plus, dans un album qui invite au voyage de la transmission entre les générations. ********** Nederlands ********** Joe Bel werd geboren in een kosmopolitische familie, en groeide op terwijl ze reisde tussen de Franse Alpen, de Middellandse Zee en Noord-Amerika. In 2012, op 23-jarige leeftijd, zette ze haar eerste stappen op het podium, solo en met enkel haar gitaar als begeleiding. Nicolas Delaigue is a sitar and surbahar player, specialist of north indian classical music. After years of immersion, practice and dedication to this art, he was able to create a bridge between India and the West, and become a reference in the interpretation and teaching of this music in Europe. Nicolas has learned sitar and hindustani classical music with Patrick Moutal, Indrajit Banerjee and have received additionnal training with Sugato and Ustad Shahid Parvez. Today, as a international concert performer, Nicolas have presented his music in many prestigious venues in Europe and around the world. Nicolas teaches sitar, Indian music and modal improvisation in numerous public, private and associative structures throughout France and Europe. In 2022, he was appointed professor of Indian Music and modal improvisation at the National Conservatory of Paris (CNSMDP). An All India Radio Grade A Artist, Sandip Banerjee is playing tabla since 1973. He is well known for his graceful accompaniment and powerful adept solo performance. He is an enlisted artist in ICCR( Indian Council for Cultural Relation) in professional category and SPIC MACAY. He has several CDs with different artists in India and abroad. His book on learning Tabla titled ‘Le Tabla’ has been published from ID Music, France. This book is also available in English now. A rare combination of talent, dedication and good sensibilities have brought Sandip to the top of his art. Lauréat du premier prix (et du Prix du Public) au Concours International de Guitare du Montreux Jazz Festival 2014, Alex Goodman a été salué comme « l’un des talents les plus prometteurs de [sa] génération de jazz » (JazzTimes), ainsi que comme « une voix musicale incontestable » (Guitar International). Ce guitariste a sorti sept albums en tant que leader ou co-leader. Son premier opus ‘Bridges,’ sorti en 2011, a été nominé pour un JUNO comme meilleur disque de jazz contemporain de l’année. Le guitariste figure sur des enregistrements aux côtés d’artistes renommés tels que John Patitucci, Dave Douglas, Ambrose Akinmusire, Dick Oatts, Mike Rodriguez et Rich Perry. Billy Strayhorn and Duke Ellington Tribute Simon Rigter (tenorsax), Jasper Soffers(piano), Jean-Louis Rassinfosse (bass),Luc Vanden Bosch (drums) Being the son of saxophone player Bob Rigter, Simon Rigter (The Netherlands, 1973) grew up in a musical environment. At age 10 he started taking classical flute lessons and at age 12 Simon started playing the saxophone. He studied at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague from 1989 until 1996, where he was taught by John Ruocco. Subsequently, he studied with Ferdinand Povel at the Hilversum Conservatoire. He graduated in 1997. As a recording artist Simon can be heard with Dutch Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra, The Reeds, Curtis Fuller, Slide Hampton, John Marshall, Cees Slinger, Victor Kaihatu, . He performed with George Coleman, Alvin Queen, Ferdinand Povel, Ruud Jacobs, Pim Jacobs, Frans Elsen and toured in China, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, India, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, and South America. Simon is a teacher at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and plays 1st tenor in The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw. He also plays with Bop2B, Equinox, The Ruud Breuls/Simon Rigter Quintet, The Simon Rigter Quartet and Tenor Conclave. In the winter of 2022 Simon released a ballad album entitled Growing Up. Alors que ses précédents albums se construisaient toujours lentement, Ultratronics de 2022 est beaucoup plus direct : les traces de techno apparaissent plus clairement, les basses tremblent plus que jamais et une voix robotique tente de compter jusqu'à trente. Ikeda garde néanmoins le contrôle de tout cela de manière magistrale. Il interprète Ultratronics en direct en combinaison avec une projection visuelle générée à partir d'une immense quantité de données. Like our beloved Venediktos Tempelboom here in the lowlands, Liam brings fresh perspectives and a punk mindset to the primitive canon, taking meandering rags and expansive modal sagas in unexpected directions.
