Description

NEWMOON est un groupe de shoegaze originaire d'Anvers, en Belgique. Avec deux albums et un EP à leur actif, le groupe continue de créer un monde où le shoegaze, le post-punk et le rock alternatif se rencontrent. « Temporary Light », leur prochaine sortie, prévue pour mars 2024,  marque la prochaine étape de leur évolution musicale. Avec leur nouveau batteur, Conor Dawson, le groupe revient en mettant l’accent sur un son aussi abrasif qu’éthéré, avec Simon Scott aux commandes du mastering, membre de Slowdive et figure incontestée de la scène shoegaze. Ayant fait les premières parties de groupes tels que Nothing, Turnover ou encore Touché Amoré et Basement, le groupe s’est produit dans toute l’Europe et jouera le vendredi 29 mars 2024 au Botanique pour la sortie de leur dernier album.


BWANA est le projet musical indie pop/rock, alternatif et sans frontières de Friedel Dufait. Elle parvient immédiatement à toucher les âmes grâce à ses lignes de guitare basses et mélancoliques, accompagnées d'une voix reconnaissable, puissante et grave, où la polyphonie apporte une bonne tonalité. BWANA a la capacité de former à la fois un 'one woman band', maîtrisant tous les instruments nécessaires pour former un groupe indie pop/rock, alternatif qui rivaliserait avec des héroïnes du genre comme Girl in Red ou PJ Harvey, mais elle joue également avec un groupe de musiciens. L’artiste écrit des textes originaux et sincères, dans lesquels vous pourriez vous reconnaître

She was born in Russia, grew up in Estonia, moved to London at 17 to study art criticism, and has since gone lowkey famous as an electronic and digital music artist under the alias Inga Copeland and as one half of the mysterious duo Hype Williams between 2009 and 2013 (along with Dean Blunt, the pseudonym of the equally mysterious artist behind Babyfather). With the 2016 release of ‘Live In Paris’, her first video LP, Lolina turned to digital composition. Her live performances experimented with CDJs, intuitive vocal improvisations, and the distortions of loops and scratches. Three more albums and a three-part NTS radio residency later, Lolina founded her own record label Relaxin Records, ahead of the release of her most recent album ‘Face The Music’ in 2022. Kwart Voor Straks is the brand-new project of Alex Deforce & Charlotte Jacobs, two wordsmiths with different styles but similar philosophies. Alex is a painter, poet and curator; Jacobs is a vocalist and songwriter. Kwart Voor Straks interweaves their speaking and singing voices with sudden, evaporating musical fragments, at times no more than the synth-tastic distortion of a single, endlessly stretched syllable. Indeed, in the short time that they existed (1971-1974) they released three unadulterated funk classics – Cymande, Second Time Around and Promised Heights – that still haven’t lost a shred of immediacy a half century later.Their influence is undeniable and Cymande has been described as “one of the most revered and sampled bands to have ever cropped up across the history of hip hop, house, and dance music”. Think: DJ Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, De La Soul, Wu-Tang Clan, Gang Starr, The Coup, The Sugarhill Gang, Fatboy Slim and The Fugees who have all sampled Cymande’s work like crazy.Cymande has also previously been described as “the greatest band you’ve never heard of”, but that will no doubt soon change. The spring of 2024 will see the release of the documentary Getting It Back: The Story Of Cymande – which includes interviews with Mark Ronson, Khruangbin, DJ Maseo (De La Soul), Jazzie B (Soul II Soul), Cut Chemist, Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Louie Vega, Kool DJ Red Alert, … – that will put the band back on the map. Getting It Back is the tale of a band of black musicians that headed to England from the Caribbean, but mainly found success in the US. Janie Rothfield is an American Fiddler and American Old Time Clawhammer banjo player widely recognized for her traditional and inventive style and her award-winning tunes. Belgian-American singer and double bassist Annick Odom performs fresh arrangements on old ballads and fiddle melodies from the Appalachian Mountains. Hilarie Burhans has been playing and teaching her powerful clawhammer banjo style for over 40 years. The most Belgian of all Puerto Ricans will be live in AB!Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Gabriel Rios settled in Belgium at the age of 17 to study painting at the Lucas School of Arts in Ghent. He came into contact with artists such as Jo Bogaert (Technotronic), jazz pianist Jef Neve, Kobe Proesmans (The Colorist Orchestra), multi-instrumentalist/producer Ruben Samama and embarked on an exciting musical journey. As such, he releases a number of captivating albums ranging from Latin crooner/pop music on 'Ghostboy' to introspective singer-songwriter tracks on 'This Marauder's Midnight' and rediscovers Latin classics on his 2021 album 'Flore'.On his sixth forthcoming album, Rios sings exclusively in Spanish and his roots form the themes for the self-written songs. He returns to his initial artistic influences while managing to renew himself, revealing a side of his personality that is both engaging and generous.
