Kuntari (Indonesia) – Neo Tribal / Metal core / Rock


A pivotal figure in the Indonesian experimental scene, KUNTARI has constantly experimented with primitive voices producing animal mating calls with his trumpet mixed with tons variation of Indonesia's tribal rhythms. The music produced percussive primal sound along with dark ambient, a firm unit and solid of two individuals with an intense dynamic of heavy ancient beats. Their live performances create an organic raw sonical untamed with feral approach.


A duo of drum-percussion and cornet-guitar inspired by Hadrah Kuntulan and Sar Ping from Lion Dance/Barongsai reflect on religion and power abuse during colonialism that destroyed cultures. KUNTARI has collaborated with many mix-genre musicians such as Rully Shabara (Senyawa), Arthur Hnatek, Morgue Vanguard, Jonas Engel, Dirk Wachtelaer, Luigi Monteanni, Yuji Ishihara and Yasushi Yoshida.

Osilasi (Belgium) – Ritual / Drone/ Folk


Osilasi, meaning ‘oscillation’ in Indonesian, by two multi-instrumentalist musicians: Léa Roger and Célia Jankowski who work with harp, drum elements, drone box, percussion, vocals, microphones and electronic effects. They work in the manner of musicians from modal music, starting from a rhythmic or sung cell, stretching it and gradually adding others which evolve organically, exploring all possible variations in terms of textures, colors, rhythmic shifts or sound dynamics.


Phuein, their debut release on OKVLT in 2023, share tastes for the protean audacity of experimental and industrial music and underground dance music, relationships between electro-acoustic music, dub and ritual music. It testifies to a relationship with vocal material by using only a form of spontaneous, invented or atavistic language, like a buried but living language, common to all peoples, which would be transformed by cultural syncretisms, moving from body to body.

********** English ********** "It may be a play, but it starts out like a film. The heart of the work is in the cinema," Christiane Jatahy says of the play."It is through cinema that we arrive on the stage.”  This story is 3000 years old, but it is replayed every day in cinema, but also in Homer's ‘Odyssey.’ All over the world, people cross borders in search of asylum or a home.   The film travels through Jenin, Palestine, refugee camps in Lebanon and Greece, downtown Johannesburg, the Amazon rainforest and ends up in Rio de Janeiro. The context of the filming may be documentary, but the whole thing is primarily fiction. The actors in these communities take Homer's verses to speak about their reality. The actors are manifestations of Odysseus, Penelope and Telemachus, they draw a straight line from ancient Greek characters to each of us, present, in the theatre.  For some people in exile or in countries at war, only the present exists, the past is already too far away or almost destroyed, and the future is unthinkable. Only the time of waiting remains. A present that overflows.  • Born in Rio de Janeiro, Christiane Jatahy has degrees in theatre and journalism, and a Masters degree in art and philosophy. In January 2022, Christiane Jatahy was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale for her entire theatrical work. Created in 2020, ‘Le présent qui déborde’, was filmed in Palestine, Lebanon, South Africa, Greece and the Amazon. The film is in dialogue with theatre and mixes fiction with real stories of refugee artists. This production by Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles has been performed at the Avignon Festival and has toured in Europe, Asia and the United States. ********** Français ********** “C’est peut-être une pièce, mais ça débute comme un film. Le cœur du travail se trouve dans le cinéma,” dit Christiane Jatahy de cette pièce. “C’est à travers le cinéma que nous arrivons sur le plateau”.  A travers le cinéma mais aussi à travers l’‘Odyssée’ d’Homère: cette histoire est vieille de 3000 ans mais elle se rejoue pourtant tous les jours. Partout dans le monde, des hommes et des femmes traversent des frontières à la recherche d’une terre d’asile ou d’un foyer.   Le fim traverse Jénine, en Palestine, des camps de réfugié·es au Liban et en Grèce, le centre-ville de Johannesburg, la forêt amazonienne et fini à Rio De Janeiro. Le contexte de ces tournages est peut-être documentaire, mais l’ensemble est avant tout une fiction. Les acteur·ices de ces communautés prennent les vers d’Homère pour parler de leur réalité. Les acteur.ices sont des manifestations d’Ulysse, de Pénélope et de Télémaque, iels tirent une ligne droite des personnages de la Grèce antique jusqu’à chacun·e de nous, présent·es dans le théâtre.  Pour certaines personnes en situation d’exil ou dans les pays en guerre, seul le présent existe, le passé est déjà trop loin d’elles ou presque détruit, et le futur est inenvisageable. Ne subsiste alors que le temps de l’attente. Alleen de tijd van het wachten blijft over. Een heden dat overloopt.   • Christiane Jatahy, geboren in Rio de Janeiro, is afgestudeerd in theater en journalistiek, en heeft een master in kunst en filosofie. In januari 2022 ontving Christiane Jatahy de Gouden Leeuw op de Biënnale van Venetië voor haar volledige artistieke theateroeuvre. The Overflowing Present', gemaakt in 2020, werd gefilmd in Palestina, Libanon, Zuid-Afrika, Griekenland en het Amazonegebied. Ahmed Ayed, vergezeld door choreograaf en danser Hamza Damra en drummer en zanger Tim Clijsters, onderzoekt zijn vragen over identiteit en de vrijheid om zichzelf te zijn voorbij de maskers die we onszelf opleggen. Realiseren we ons ooit volledig onze ware identiteit, of leven we door een reeks compromissen die ons vormen ondanks onszelf? Hoe kunnen we onszelf zijn als we alleen maar rollen spelen waar we niet voor kiezen? Door middel van beweging, de constante metamorfose van lichaam en ruimte en de rauwe puls van drums neemt ...And Nobody Else ons mee op een inwijdingsreis naar verschillende versies van onszelf. ********** English ********** DREAM is a five-hour score moving between music, dance and theater. The artists bring to the stage a durational performance, an action without beginning or end, long enough to make one forget the very concept of time. The viewer will be able to move, doze off or dream to his or her heart’s content. Spectators are invited to visit the space for as long as they wish, as if they were inside a museum. The dramaturgical and aesthetic framework, that generates and alters the performers’ state, is formed by music performed live by the pianist, soundscapes composed by Aurora Bauza and Pere Jou, and lighting by Valeria Foti.   Alessandro Sciarroni is an Italian performance artist who involves professionals from different disciplines and uses techniques from dance, as well as circus or sports. In 2019 he received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement in Dance by the Venice Biennial.  In collaboration with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Bruxelles. The public is free to move around the space, to leave and re-enter. You can arrive at any time and watch the performance for as long as you wish. Depending on the number of visitors, you may have to wait before you can enter. Mobilhome is a jazz quintet based in Brussels formed around pianist Camille-Alban Spreng. Following the over kitch statement: "music is where your home is", they lead the listener on a stony countryside path, full of dangerous turns and smoggy landscapes. This is avantgarde jazz music for nostalgic pop-rock boomers, or birdsongs lovers. One Frame Movement excels in driving and colourful compositions. The young jazz trio exudes warm-blooded playing pleasure and draws inspiration from electronic orientations, classical music, indie, and other unexpected sources.
