Issus d’une illustre famille de marionnettistes liégeois, ils réapparaissent chaque printemps.

La vieille charrette à bras familiale est tirée sur la place.

Didier grogne quelques mots, empoigne les gamins turbulents et
apostrophe les parents mal élevés qui confondent son castelet ambulant
avec leur télévision.

Il harangue la foule et installe ses vieilles marionnettes sur la charrette.

« Aujourd’hui la légende de la porte du diable ! Approchez, nos
marionnettes font grandir les enfants et rajeunir les vieillards ! Vous
n’aurez pas l’air plus bête ici qu’au football ! »

Le ton est donné : un spectacle mêlant tradition et actualité, haut
en couleur, où adultes et enfants s’amuseront du jeu des marionnettes
pour les uns, de la truculence du comédien pour les autres.

Didier moppert een paar woorden, grijpt de onhandelbare kinderen en

met hun televisietoestellen.

Hij spreekt de menigte toe en zet zijn oude poppen op de kar.

"Vandaag, de legende van de Duivelspoort! Kom mee, onze poppen
onze poppen maken kinderen groter en oude mannen jonger! Jullie
Hier zie je er niet dommer uit dan bij het voetbal!

De toon is gezet: een kleurrijke voorstelling die traditie en actualiteit combineert
kleurrijk, met zowel volwassenen als kinderen die genieten van de poppen
voor de een, en de brutaliteit van de acteur voor de ander.

The tone is set: a colourful show combining tradition and current events

Les lignes entre le désespoir et l’espoir, le rêve et la réalité commencent à s’estomper. Soudain, les papiers qui l’entourent se réveillent et commencent à bouger. Le soleil se lève dans l’univers de l’imagination. « Niyar » est un monde à l’intérieur d’un monde. Une histoire dans son histoire, il y est question d’amour de perte et de désir d’accomplissement. Travailler dur dans un monde imparfait nous rend tristes. Les sentiments d’amour rendent heureux. Dans « Niyar », la tristesse et le désespoir bouleversent une âme de papier. Cette poésie visuelle est aussi l'oeuvre de deux artistes Mayan Iungman et Philip Ruckenwill. ********** Nederlands ********** In een berg wit papier zit ze, diep in gedachten, na uren en uren schrijven. Alles kan gebeuren. De grenzen tussen wanhoop en hoop, droom en werkelijkheid, beginnen te vervagen. Plotseling worden de papieren om hem heen wakker en beginnen te bewegen. De zon komt op in de wereld van de verbeelding. "Niyar" is een wereld in een wereld. Een verhaal in een verhaal, het gaat over liefde, verlies en het verlangen naar vervulling. Hard werken in een onvolmaakte wereld maakt ons verdrietig. Gevoelens van liefde maken ons gelukkig. In 'Niyar' overweldigen verdriet en wanhoop een papieren ziel. ********** Français ********** C’est l’histoire de trois personnages : Josef, La Fillette et l’Accumulateur . Josef vit seul dans son petit appartement, il mène une existence routinière. Tous les jours sont les mêmes : un peu de gym, aller au boulot à vélo, pousser des caisses et des caisses, rentrer à la maison . La Fillette vit seule aussi. Plus inquiétant pour une fillette. Elle vit au milieu de conteneurs abandonnés. Mais dans cet amoncellement, elle joue, elle saute : elle est chez elle, bien vivante au milieu de ce no man’s land. Un jour, toute occupée qu’elle est à imiter une mouette, elle découvre un bébé dans un conteneur. Consciente qu’il ne pourra pas s’en sortir si on le laisse là, elle part chercher Josef pour qu’il vienne l’aider à trouver une solution. Entre temps, hélas, le conteneur dans lequel se trouve le bébé disparaît. La Fillette n’aura alors de cesse de le retrouver. ********** Nederlands ********** Dit is het verhaal van drie personages: Josef, Het Meisje en De Accumulator. Josef woont alleen in zijn kleine flat en leidt een routinematig bestaan. Elke dag is hetzelfde: een beetje fitnessen, naar het werk fietsen, dozen en dozen duwen, thuiskomen. Het kleine meisje woont ook alleen. Nog meer zorgen voor een klein meisje. Ze woont midden tussen verlaten containers. Un Conteneur spreekt over onze wereld, de wereld van overconsumptie werk en het leven dat verspild wordt aan het verdienen ervan. Het gaat over de mensen die het maken en degenen die worden uitgesloten. Het gaat over degenen die hebben en zij die niets hebben, en omgekeerd. Het gaat over degenen Het gaat over degenen die ondergedoken leven en die we niet hopen te zien. Maar Un Conteneur gaat ook over de onherleidbare vreugde van de kindertijd, vriendschap en de kracht van het collectief. ********** English ********** This is the story of three characters: Josef, The Girl and The Accumulator. Un seul faux bond et toute sa vie explose. Alors Mr Fragile grandit en osant à peine bouger. Nous le suivons sur le chemin de la vie. Un chemin rempli de dangers et de défis, où le cœur et la tête ne prennent pas toujours la même direction… Soudain quelque chose se passe. Quelque chose de totalement imprévu. Quelque chose de beau mais quelque chose de terriblement dangereux !

********** Français ********** Si tu pouvais faire un vœu, un seul, que choisirais-tu ? Un jour? Milou trouve une boule enchantée. Elle offre à tous ceux qui la prennent en main le droit de faire un et un seul vœu. Que pourrait souhaiter Milou ? Qu'il est difficile de faire un choix. Quand la boule passe dans les mains des adultes, le village se métamorphose en un clin d’œil. Mais est-ce que les habitants y sont plus heureux qu’avant ? Le public peut observer l'artiste Sandrine Calmant dessiner dans le sable. Ceci apparait sur un grand écran. Dans les dessins, l'artiste fait bouger ses personnages en ombres et rend ainsi l'histoire visible. Au piano et au célesta, le musicien Jean Jadin accompagne cette expérience merveilleuse. Jean et Sandrine racontent ce conte ancien sous la forme d'un théâtre d'images poétique, dans lequel les enfants découvrent l'interaction envoûtante entre l'image et la musique. Après le spectacle, les enfants peuvent expérimenter eux-mêmes la création d'une image dans le sable. Sandrine prépare des petits boîtes lumineuses et les recouvre d'une fine couche de sable. Ensuite, chaque enfant peut s'essayer avec ses doigts ou un pinceau et créer sa propre œuvre d'art. Pendant que Jean répète les mélodies de la pièce de théâtre, les enfants dessinent leurs images lumineuses dans un esprit calme et concentré. Le spectacle s'adresse aux enfants de 4 à 8 ans, ainsi qu'aux familles. Joué en français. Met de steun van de Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, het Duitstalige gebied van België (Ostbelgien) en het Ministerie van Cultuur van de Duitstalige Gemeenschap van België, het Image de Bruxelles, Nationaal Loterij en het Geweest van Elsene. Een wens van Sneeuwwitje? Dat het moeilijk is om een keuze te maken. Als de bal voorbij komt is het dorp in een oogwenk veranderd. Maar zijn de dorpelingen gelukkiger dan voorheen? Het publiek kan zien hoe kunstenaar Sandrine Calmant in het zand tekent. Dit verschijnt op een groot scherm. In haar tekeningen haar personages in de schaduw, waardoor het verhaal zichtbaar wordt. Muzikant Jean Jadin begeleidt deze prachtige ervaring op piano en celesta. Jean Jadin en Sandrine Calmant vertellen dit eeuwenoude verhaal in de vorm van een poëtisch theater van beelden, waarin de kinderen het betoverende samenspel tussen beelden en muziek. Ontdek op 5 mei de try-out van deze literaire theatervoorstelling van Jessa Wildemeersch. Wanneer Lumi in een barokke kerk in Rome een altaarwerk van Rubens ontdekt, wordt ze terug in de tijd gekatapulteerd. Twintig jaar geleden zag ze een reproductie van deze Madonna met Kind in de kelder van een vriend in Jersey City. Hoe meer Lumi zich verdiept in het werk en de omgeving rond de kerk, hoe dwingender haar herinneringen zich aan haar opdringen. Kan zij in het reine komen met het duistere incident uit haar verleden? Jessa Wildemeersch verweeft persoonlijke verhalen, kunstgeschiedenis en historische gebeurtenissen tot een meeslepend epos en een meedogenloze ontdekkingsreis in deze debuutroman. Deze theatermaakster en schrijfster resideert enkele weken in Het Huys voor de creatie van een theatrale bewerking van haar roman. Op zondag 5 mei toont zij het resultaat in een try-out voorstelling in Het Huys. Jessa Wildemeersch (1978) is theatermaker, actrice en auteur. Ze studeerde aan de Studio Herman Teirlinck in Antwerpen. In 2006 verkreeg ze het Lifetime Memberschip aan The Actors Studio in New York. Met haar organisatie Les yeux bleus maakt ze theatervoorstellingen waarin ze historische en hedendaagse gebeurtenissen verwerkt. Als auteur kreeg ze internationale residenties in Rusland en Italië.

Emmanuel presents a whistle stop tour through all of his jobs that have led him to become one of the hottest stand-up comics on the circuit in brand new show, Emmanuel Sonubi: Curriculum Vitae. This brand-new show takes us through a hilarious and heartfelt story that explores all the jobs that Emmanuel has had before becoming a comedian and how those experiences helped shape his comedic voice. Recently seen on QI, Alan Davies As Yet Untitled, Apprentice 'You're Fired’ and headlined Live at the Apollo. Both Emmanuel’s 2022 and 2023 shows Emancipated and Curriculum Viate sold out and was a Fringe smash-hit, and this is a show not to miss. The show takes the audience on a hilarious and sometimes poignant journey through a variety of jobs and industries many of which, he was wildly unqualified to do. From working in IT to the doors of London's nightlife, all this while building up an impressive list of Musical Theatre credit. Emmanuel said today, “I am looking forward to getting out to Rotterdam, I promise you’re going to love the show as much as I do performing it. Edinburgh was an absolute blast and I’m humbled to have been nominated twice in a row for the biggest prize in comedy and I cannot wait to share this show with you.” Very special guest : Richard Ruben Richard Ruben is one of the best known franch speaking comedians in Belgium. At a point in our evolution when it seems as if we’re sleepwalking into a world where humans might be redundant, and much of what we do can be done better and more efficiently by machines, what better time to celebrate our own flawed humanity. And who better a guide to lead us than Bill… To take us on a jaunt through the error-strewn, distracted, crumb-festooned, sometimes magnificent history of human thought and how it might help us survive in this brave new world.
