The musical archive of medieval mystic Hildegard von Bingen has been reworked for bandura and voice by performance artists Marie-Pierre Brébant & François Chaignaud. For several years, the French duo has been unravelling the 12th-century manuscripts which contain all the music of the canonised Benedictine abbess Hildegard.
During the 2.5-hour performance at the Horta Hall, musician Marie-Pierre Brébant plays the bandura (Ukrainian harp) while choreographer François Chaignaud completes the piece through voice and dance. They effortlessly immerse themselves in the medieval mindset, catapulting you back to the Central Germany of Hildegard von Bingen during the 12th century.
With Symphonia Harmoniæ Cælestium Revelationum, the artists deliver a comprehensive experience that can be felt as a trance where they allow their, as it were psychedelic, sensations to flow through to the audience. Fascinated by the ancient scriptures, they now passionately perform a philosophical performance aimed at meditation, contemplation and healing.

Les archives musicales de l’icône médiévale Hildegard von Bingen ont été retravaillées pour bandura (harpe ukrainienne) et voix par les artistes Marie-Pierre Brébant et François Chaignaud. Depuis plusieurs années, le duo français décortique les manuscrits du XIIe siècle qui contiennent les compositions de l’abbesse bénédictine canonisée.
Pendant deux heures et demie, dans la salle Horta, la musicienne Marie-Pierre Brébant joue de la bandura tandis que le chorégraphe François Chaignaud enrichit l'œuvre par la voix et la danse. Imprégné de l'esprit médiéval, le spectacle évoque naturellement l'Allemagne centrale d'Hildegard von Bingen au XIIe siècle.
Symphonia Harmoniæ Cælestium Revelationum est une expérience complète qui peut se ressentir comme une transe, les artistes laissant une impression psychédélique se répandre à travers le public. Fascinés par les écritures anciennes, Marie-Pierre Brébant et François Chaignaud se livrent avec passion dans un spectacle philosophique appelant méditation, contemplation et guérison.

Het muzikale archief van de middeleeuwse mystica Hildegard von Bingen werd herwerkt voor bandura en stem door performanceartiesten Marie-Pierre Brébant & François Chaignaud. Het Franstalige duo ontrafelt al een aantal jaren de twaalfde-eeuwse manuscripten die alle muziek van de heiligverklaarde benedictijnse abdis Hildegard bevatten.
Tijdens de 2,5 uur durende performance in de Hortahal bespeelt muzikante Marie-Pierre Brébant de bandura (Oekraïense harp) terwijl choreograaf François Chaignaud het stuk vervolmaakt met stem en dans. Ze leven ze zich moeiteloos in in het middeleeuwse denkpatroon, waardoor je als het ware terug wordt gekatapulteerd naar het Midden-Duitsland van Hildegard von Bingen gedurende de 12de eeuw.
De artiesten leveren met Symphonia Harmoniæ Cælestium Revelationum een totaalbeleving die ervaren kan worden als een trance waar ze hun, als het ware psychedelische, sensaties laten doorstromen naar het publiek.
