Kintsugi is an ancestral Japanese art that consists of repairing a broken object by sublimating the cracks with gold so that it is enhanced by the repair.
Kintsugi is an ode to imperfection and fragility.

Inspired by this concept, choreographer Isabella Soupart's new production explores the themes of imperfection, asymmetry and chaos.

The French dancer-performer Elsa Tagawa enters into a dialogue with the Brussels-based composer-drummer and producer Antoine Pierre, who fuses live acoustic drums, electronic elements and sound samples.

KINTSUGI interweaves multiple layers to create a distinctive and unique language.
The performance goes straight to the essence, with the music evoking the full spectrum of associations and emotions, while creating a choreographic counterpoint infused with endless vigour.

This mesmerising performance puts body, sound and voice at the heart of the game, and plays with our perceptions.

Le kintsugi est un art ancestral japonais qui consiste à réparer un objet brisé en sublimant les fissures par de l’or, de telle sorte qu’il est magnifié par la réparation. Le Kintsugi est une ode à l’imperfection et à la fragilité. En s’inspirant de ce concept, la chorégraphe Isabella Soupart explore dans sa nouvelle production une recherche autour de l’imperfection, de l’asymétrie et du chaos. La danseuse-performeuse française Elsa Tagawa entre en dialogue avec le compositeur-batteur et producteur bruxellois Antoine Pierre qui, en live, fusionne batterie acoustique, éléments électroniques et échantillons sonores. La pièce KINTSUGI fait s’entrelacer de multiples strates pour faire émerger un langage unique.
Ce spectacle revient à l’essentiel, avec tout le spectre d’associations et d’émotions que la pièce musicale évoque, tout en créant un contrepoint chorégraphique habité d’une inépuisable vitalité. Une performance hypnotique qui place le corps, le son et la voix au centre du jeu et joue avec nos perceptions.
