L’art de Skender Hyseni paraît le plus ancien du monde tant il est préoccupé par le
respect de la chose originelle et tourmenté par les questionnements du temps. Il est
naturel pour l’artiste albanais d’exiger le tout d’une vie. Les entailles, les déchirures sont
autant de stigmates qui témoignent du geste fondateur de l’homme sur la matière brute
et imparfaite. Par l’action de sa main, de ses doigts, de son corps tout entier, il insuffle
l’esprit à la matière qui s’étire et s’enroule sur elle-même formant dans son antre, des
lieux soustraits à la lumière d’où émane un fascinant mystère. Le sculpteur intègre
volontiers son œuvre dans l’espace qui implique à la fois la lumière et son contraire,
quand l’ombre y est aussi solide que l’objet projeté. Alors qu’il dialogue avec la plus
modeste des substances : la terre, cette humble texture se voit transfigurée par la poésie
de l’artiste en une forme sculpturale minimaliste, à la fois rustique mais si raffinée qu’elle
en devient somptueuse.

De kunst van Skender Hyseni is een ode aan de oorspronkelijkheid van alles en de
in vraagstelling van de tijdelijkheid. De inkepingen en schaafwonden getuigen van
de menselijke invloed op de ruwe en onvolmaakte materie. Zijn handen, vingers en
lichaam geven geest aan de materie die zich uitstrekt en om zich heen wikkelt in
haar eigen intieme verbogen plaatsen, die een fascinerend mysterie brengt.
De beeldhouwer uit Albanië, integreert graag zijn werk in de ruimte die zowel licht
als de tegenhanger ervan illustreert, wanneer de schaduw haar aanwezigheid even
sterk vestigt als het geprojecteerde object.
Terwijl hij dialogeert met de meest bescheiden substantie: de aarde, wordt deze
nederige textuur door de poëzie van de kunstenaar getransfigureerd in een
minimalistische sculpturale vorm die zowel rustiek maar toch zo verfijnd wordt, dat
de weelderigheid zich manifesteert.

The art of Skender Hyseni seems the oldest in the world as it is tormented by the questions
of time. The notches, the scratches are stigmas that testify the founding gesture of man on
the raw and imperfect material. By the action of his hand, his fingers, his entire body, he
breathes spirit into matter which streches and wraps around itself forming in its lair, places
hidden from the light of where a fascinating mystery emanates. The sculptor willingly
integrates his work into the space that involves both light and its opposite, when the
shadow is as solid as the projected object. As he dialogues with the most modest of
substances: earth,this humble texture is transfigured by the poetry of the artist into a
minimalist sculptural form, both rustic but so refined at the same time that it becomes
sumptuous.
