The Brussels Short Film Festival is back for its 27th edition! Once again this year, the Brussels Short Film Festival takes over the iconic venues of Flagey, Vendômes and Cinéma Galeries, next spring from April 24th to May 4th 2024. On the programme: 11 days of festival, more than 250 short films, films in competitions (national, international and Next Generation) and out of competition programs (Night of the Shorts, Oscars, free Open Air screenings…), youth-focused workshops, a range of professional activities and a Marquee to take a break. Get ready for another captivating cinematic experience! Save the dates and stay tuned for details of the programme and special guests.

Het Brussels Short Film Festival is terug voor zijn 27ste editie van 24 april tot 04 mei 2024 in Flagey, Vendômes en Cinéma Galeries. Op het programma: 11 dagen festival, meer dan 250 kortfilms, films in Competitie (Internationale, Nationale en Next Generation), programma's buiten Competitie (de Nacht van de Kortfilm, Oscar-genomineerde films, gratis Open-Air screenings...), activiteiten voor de jeugd, industry events en een festivaltent om te chillen.

Le Brussels Short Film Festival est de retour pour sa 27e édition ! Cette année encore, le Brussels Short Film Festival reprend ses quartiers à Flagey, au Vendôme et au Cinéma Galeries à sa période habituelle : du 24 avril au 4 mai 2024. Au programme : 11 jours de festival, plus de 250 courts métrages, des films en compétitions (internationale, nationale et Next Generation) et hors compétition (une Nuit du Court, les Oscars, des séances Open Air gratuites au Mont des Arts…), des ateliers pour les Youth, un panel d’activités professionnelles et un Chapiteau pour se retrouver. Wachten op dode tijd. Dat is iets wat gedetineerden dagelijks moeten zien te overleven. Hoe geven ze hier zin aan, wat geeft zin aan het wachten en de absurde omstandigheden die hen overkomen? En welke rol spelen de kunsten in dit verhaal? Dit alles zien we in de film Un Triomphe, die we mogen vertonen aan jullie op 6 mei in PILAR BOX. Stagiairs Azza en Cerise geven ook een toelichting over wat de literatuur en (ervarings)deskundigen zeggen over dit onderwerp, en ook hoe zingeving in detentie relevant is voor, ons, buiten detentie. Iedereen is welkom op deze filmavond, jongeren maar ook proffen, assistenten en geïnteresseerden worden warm ontvangen, tot dan!

********** English ********** Premiere in the presence of the film crew. The Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin by Johann Sebastian Bach are considered “the Himalayas of violinists". Yehudi Menuhin first recorded the complete works mid-1930s. The film, focuses on the Sonatas. It is a true dialogue between the recording of Yehudi Menuhin and Claire Bourdet, playing them today. The different movements are played in turn until they are merged into an unexpected polyphony. This is a film about music as an image of time. Le film, qui se concentre sur les Sonates, est un dialogue entre l’enregistrement de Yehudi Menuhin et Claire Bourdet qui les interprète aujourd’hui. The best young violinists from the four corners of the world will compete in Brussels, from 6 May to 12 June. Tickets and subscriptions will be on sale as from February 2024. ********** Français ********** En 2024, le Concours Reine Elisabeth sera dédié au violon pour la 20ième fois. De jeunes violonistes venant du monde entier se présenteront à Bruxelles du 6 mai au 12 juin. Les tickets et abonnements seront en vente à partir de février 2024. ********** Nederlands ********** In 2024 zal de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd voor de twintigste keer in het teken staan van de viool.
