Jef Verheyen – Venster op het oneindige

Zó belangrijk voor de Europese kunstwereld en toch relatief onbekend in België: de Vlaamse kunstenaar Jef Verheyen (1932-1984) keert terug naar Antwerpen. Veertig jaar na zijn overlijden presenteert het KMSKA de eerste solotentoonstelling van deze illustere moderne meester in zijn thuisstad. Een primeur.  In de expo ontdekt de bezoeker een boeiend spel van licht en donker, van vorm en kleur. Dankzij baanbrekend onderzoek van het M HKA krijgt Verheyens experimentele zoektocht naar leegte vorm. Een zoektocht die ook vandaag nog relevant is. Daarom worden de werken van Verheyen niet enkel in dialoog of confrontatie geplaatst met zijn voorgangers en tijdgenoten, maar ook met hedendaagse kunstenaars. Prestigieuze bruiklenen van onder andere de Yves Klein Foundation, het Uecker Archiv en de Fondazione Lucio Fontana verrijken de expo en plaatsen Verheyen in een internationaal kader. Dans le cadre des Nuits Botanique 2024, cette formule est amplifiée dans une édition XXL. De 22h à 5h du matin, l’atmosphère des Nuits se prolongera dans les salles de l’Orangerie, de la Rotonde et du Musée, où vous pourrez profiter d’une programmation avant-gardiste locale et internationale. Les serres et les terrasses du Botanique deviendront le terrain de jeu des mélomanes et des fêtard·e·s. Pour vous offrir une expérience complète, des billets combis sont disponibles, donnant accès aux concerts du Chapiteau puis à ceux de la Bota By Night dans les différentes salles intérieures. Alors que l’Orangerie sera dédiée à la danse sous toutes ses formes, la Rotonde sera le théâtre de sonorités électroniques venues du monde entier. Le Musée sera quant à lui consacré à d’impressionnants sets live. Au Chapiteau, profitez d’une programmation exceptionnelle regroupant Hannah Diamond, ELOI, Tohji, Babymorocco et Zonmai. Il compose sa musique à partir de sinusoïdes, de bruits, de basses et de formules mathématiques. Alors que ses précédents albums se construisaient toujours lentement, Ultratronics de 2022 est beaucoup plus direct : les traces de techno apparaissent plus clairement, les basses tremblent plus que jamais et une voix robotique tente de compter jusqu'à trente. Ikeda garde néanmoins le contrôle de tout cela de manière magistrale. Il interprète Ultratronics en direct en combinaison avec une projection visuelle générée à partir d'une immense quantité de données. Avec ce mélange d'images et de sons, Ikeda crée une expérience immersive inoubliable qui ne laisse personne indifférent. ! Attention ! Une grande partie de ce show inclut des effets stroboscopiques.
