ANK Live Concert
Description
********** English **********
Half rock, half folk, with a hint of jazz, ANK sings. In French. Its lyrics delve into bears, shipwrecks, and barricades. It laughs, rebels, and consoles. If we trace Anglo-Saxon influences - echoing the sounds of Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, or Alexi Murdoch - we also detect shades of the young Gainsbourg, Nougaro, Annegarn, Prévert, and even Belin. Nicolas Ankoudinoff is seen as emerging from a familial cocoon where music was all around—beginning with the flute, switching to the saxophone, and exploring the guitar. He studied improvisation, composition, rock, and chamber music at the Conservatoire de Liège. He then founded the alternative jazz ensemble Animus Anima and released three records with his band. He collaborated regularly with poets such as Pierre Guéry, Tom Nisse, and Serge Noël. He also composed for theater, cinema, and television. Stage, music, and writing were his constant companions, and fed his deep-seated desire to sing. Cabaret concerts followed his first solo performances...and then, he formed a band. His first album "Chansons rebelles et d'amour" was released in May 2023.

Half rock, half folk, with a hint of jazz, ANK zingt.
