I am Chance raconte la vie mouvementée d'un groupe de jeunes filles vivant dans les rues de Kinshasa. Vie de rue et de paradoxes, Chancelvie et ses amies affrontent le monde et ses difficultés avec sourire et résilience.
I am Chance est un instantané de Kinshasa, mégapole d'une Afrique colorée, pop et artistique. Kinshasa est l’autre personnage du film dont les mille voix rythmées forment un chœur avec celles des filles.

In januari 2020 verscheen Bitterzoet, het vierde album van de Nederlandse
artieste Eefje de Visser. Door de coronacrisis viel de promotour voor de plaat
in het water. Maar Eefje en haar Belgisch-Nederlandse band waren in topvorm en
verrassen hun fans met een unieke concertfilm: Bitterzoet.
De film is meer dan enkel de registratie van een live sessie: de opnames vinden
plaats in De Robot Studios, een Gentse loft bestaande uit één grote ruimte
waarin Eefje werkt, slaapt en leeft met haar man en muzikale wederhelft
Pieterjan.
De hele film ademt de eigenheid en de esthetiek van de groep en maakt van
Bitterzoet een tijdloze en erg persoonlijke film.

In een winkelgalerij kruisen en ontmoeten klanten en winkelmeisjes elkaar
dagelijks in Lili’s kapsalon, in de prêt-à-porter boetiek van de familie
Schwartz, of aan de bar bij Sylvie. Allen dromen ze van liefde: verboden liefde,
epistolaire liefde, onmogelijke liefde... Ze praten erover, bezingen ze, en
dansen op het ritme van het koor shampoomeisjes.
Een uitmuntende ensemblecast, met o.a. Delphine Seyrig en jaren tachtig popster
Lio, glijdt door de winkelgalerij in een piekfijn geregisseerde choreografie, op
de tonen van een aanstekelijke pop-soundtrack. Akerman schreef zelf de teksten
voor de bedrieglijk vrolijke liedjes en zet de kijker constant op het verkeerde
been: is deze film echt een ironische kritiek op de hyper-commerciële jaren
tachtig of eerder een liefdevolle mijmering over alledaagsheid?

When one of her students is suspected of theft, teacher Carla Nowak decides to
get to the bottom of it. Caught between her ideals and the school system, the
consequences of her actions threaten to break her.

secret vers Le Royaume des Courants d’Air, leur livre favori. Transformées en
chats et séparées l’une de l’autre, elles devront faire preuve de témérité et
d’audace pour se retrouver. Avec l’aide de la cantatrice Selma, elles tenteront
de rejoindre le monde réel en affrontant Sirocco, le maître des vents et des
tempêtes… Mais ce dernier est-il aussi terrifiant qu’elles l’imaginent ?

la famille. Je savais seulement qu’elle avait subi une lobotomie. En tirant les
fils de ce drame, j’explore les liens de la psychiatrie avec la société de son
temps et la place très particulière des femmes dans cette histoire...

samenleving van die tijd en de bijzondere plaats die vrouwen in die geschiedenis

visions de la Vierge Marie et que beaucoup considèrent comme miraculeuse.
Ce film a également représenté l’Équateur aux Oscars.

“De predikant” is het verhaal van een cynische oplichter die financieel voordeel
haalt uit de familie van een meisje dat door velen als wonderbaarlijk wordt
beschouwd. Samen met de ouders van het ‘heilige meisje’ zullen ze een bedrijf
opzetten dat zo groot en lucratief is dat het onvermijdelijk uit de hand zal
lopen.

célibataire est désemparée. Lorsque sa collègue lui suggère de se renseigner sur
les thérapies de conversion proposées par un pasteur gourou, Suellen cherche un
moyen de collecter la somme nécessaire pour couvrir les frais élevés du
programme. Elle se retrouve à aider des criminels à cibler les riches
banlieusards qui passent par son péage.
