Description
In januari 2020 verscheen Bitterzoet, het vierde album van de Nederlandse artieste Eefje de Visser. Door de coronacrisis viel de promotour voor de plaat in het water. Maar Eefje en haar Belgisch-Nederlandse band waren in topvorm en verrassen hun fans met een unieke concertfilm: Bitterzoet.
De film is meer dan enkel de registratie van een live sessie: de opnames vinden plaats in De Robot Studios, een Gentse loft bestaande uit één grote ruimte waarin Eefje werkt, slaapt en leeft met haar man en muzikale wederhelft Pieterjan.
De hele film ademt de eigenheid en de esthetiek van de groep en maakt van Bitterzoet een tijdloze en erg persoonlijke film.

Takumi and his daughter Hana live in the village of Mizubiki near Tokyo. Like
the generations before them, they live a modest life in harmony with nature.
When it is announced one day that there are plans to build a glamping site near
Takumi's house with implications for their water supply, unrest arises among the
residents. The arrival of the glamping will change the peaceful community and
surrounding nature forever, and has severe implications for Takumi's life.

revealed an animal world in which sexuality, gender and family rhyme with
diversity. Queer is natural! From one encounter to the next, the film
interweaves the thoughts and emotions of two artists inspired by this queer
nature and the multitude of animal behaviours and depict that poetically.
Through the intimate and the reflective, Queerying Nature asks: is the story of
the animal the echo of our society? And could we shatter the idea of a sexual
norm while removing the symbolic power of animals?

LGBTQIA2S+ et celle pour l'environnement. Ce film explore la relation avec la
nature, la sexualité et les normes sociétales, en interrogeant une philosophe et
deux artistes.
Pour approfondir le sujet, nous organisons un moment de question-débat après la
projection. La réalisatrice du film, Aline Magrez sera présente pour répondre
aux questions du public.

vraag-en-debatsessie. De regisseur van de film, Aline Magrez, zal aanwezig zijn

The Belgian documentary "Queerying Nature" by Aline Magrez will be screened
during Brussels Pride Week in order to raise public awareness of the theme of
queer ecology and to show that there is indeed an intersection between the
struggle of LGBTQIA2S+ and that for the environment. This film explores the
relationship with nature, sexuality and societal norms, by interviewing a
philosopher and two artists.
To explore the subject in more depth, we are organizing a question-and-debate
session after the screening. The director of the film, Aline Magrez will be
present to answer questions from the public.
