The National Expo, a unique exhibition by museumPASSmusées and VRT at KBR, puts
hidden artistic talent in the spotlight. This year, the visual artists were
inspired by the work of James Ensor, as part of the Ensor Year 2024.
The laureates of the Ensor edition of The National Expo are chosen by the
general public and a professional jury through a national competition.
Discover the 70 talents from 28 June to 31 July at KBR in the heart of Brussels.

met en lumière des talents artistiques cachés. Cette année, les artistes
plasticiens se sont inspirés de l'œuvre de James Ensor, dans le cadre de l'Année

MULTITUDE is a solo exhibition by Alexandre Farto aka Vhils. Spread across the
MIMA, visitors can encounter wall carvings, billboards, cityscapes, videos and
installations from different time periods that offer a compelling insight into
the Portuguese artist approach to the relationship between people and cities.

MULTITUDE est une exposition d’Alexandre Farto aka Vhils. Répartis sur les
différents niveaux du MIMA, les visiteurs peuvent découvrir des gravures
murales, des panneaux d’affichage, des paysages urbains, des vidéos et des
installations de différentes époques qui offrent un aperçu fascinant de
l’approche de l’artiste portugais en ce qui concerne la relation entre les
individus et les villes.

MULTITUDE is een solotentoonstelling van Alexandre Farto alias Vhils. Verspreid
over het MIMA kunnen bezoekers muurgravures, billboards, stadsbeelden, video’s
en installaties uit verschillende tijdsperioden ontdekken die een fascinerend
inzicht geven in de benadering van de Portugese kunstenaar over de relatie
tussen mensen en steden.
ID chapter I construction is a research that celebrates identity using different
artistic means as vessels to raise questions about who we are as individuals and
as a whole.
Who am I to myself? Who am I to others? How do I define myself? Am I conscious
that I’m living, and to what extend? How do people’s perceptions of me interfere
with my own?
Digging into these existential questions, following with attention to the
complex landscape of the human experience, is the underlying study that
motivates this research that’s probably the project of a lifetime.
Practically, the project will be divided into chapters. Each chapter will be the
object of a specific study. iD chapter I construction will bring about a
conversation on the deconstruction of identity, whether intimate or collective:
when who we are to ourselves is no more defined by a name, a gender, a race or a
job.

reservation is required.

succès de sa première rétrospective au M Museum, à Louvain.

Depuis son lancement en 2023, le projet a réuni 60 femmes, du Sud au Nord du
pays: Virton, Léglise, Ciney, Bruxelles et Anvers (participantes de 9 à 96 ans).
Cette installation visualise des rêves et des récits de femmes sur 40 mètres de
tables !
'Our Dinner Party' est basé sur l'héritage révolutionaire de Judy Chicago dans
les années '70!

Alle vrouwen, kunstenaars of amateur naaisters, brengen een persoonlijk verhaal
in de vorm van een tafelloper. 'Our Dinner Party' is een installatie van 40
meter tafel vol verhalend textiel over identiteit, dromen, alledaagse anekdotes
of intieme ervaringen. Dit project geeft een stem aan vrouwen met de meest
uiteenlopende achtergrond. Textielkunst die dromen en verhalen visualiseert!
