"Decolonise Nature" Weekend
Description
*** Nederlands ***

The "Decolonise Nature" student team of the Honours Programme Transdisciplinary Insights organised by the KU Leuven REGA Institute would like to invite you to participate in the "Decolonise Nature Weekend", an interactive weekend intended to not only question the Western views of nature but also reclaim indigenous knowledge under the slogan “Decolonising Natures Knowledge, a (re-)discovery of indigenous knowledge & reassessment of the novelty of (some) Western scientific knowledge.” With a group of 11 students from different disciplines, education levels and nationalities at KU Leuven in Belgium, we have been discussing nature beyond current scientific models which too often neglect and marginalise traditional/indigenous models of defining and approaching knowledge within nature. Ultimately, we hope to share our reflections during the Decolonise Nature Weekend in the Africa Museum in Tervuren, on 13 & 14th May 2022.
