Adèle Viret Quartet

Elle se forme en classique au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles et profite en parallèle du mentorat du saxophoniste et compositeur Fabrizio Cassol. On l’a vu notamment se produire au côté de Magic Malik, de l’Orchestre National de Jazz des jeunes et plus récemment avec le groupe Aka Moon dont elle apparaît sur le dernier album Quality of Joy. Avec ce quartet, Adèle présente pour la première fois ses compositions personnelles. C’est un lieu de rencontre des univers qui la touchent et l’amusent, un alliage de lyrisme et jeux rythmiques avec quelques touches d’atmosphères minimalistes. Explorant des chemins d’improvisations multiples et relevant le défi d’un quartet sans « basse » où les graves du violoncelle et du piano prennent le relais en alternance, elle s’entoure pour ce tout premier projet d’artistes qui lui sont chers

Ze studeerde klassieke muziek aan het Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles en genoot tegelijkertijd het mentoraat van saxofonist en componist Fabrizio Cassol. Ze trad op met Magic Malik, het Orchestre National de Jazz des Jeunes en meer recent met de groep Aka Moon, op wiens laatste album Quality of Joy ze te horen is. Met dit kwartet presenteert Adèle voor het eerst haar eigen composities. Het is een ontmoetingsplaats voor de werelden die haar raken en amuseren, een mix van lyriek en ritmische spelletjes met een paar vleugjes minimalistische sfeer. Ze verkent een breed scala aan improvisaties en gaat de uitdaging aan van een kwartet zonder 'bas', waarin de lage tonen van de cello en de piano afwisselend de overhand hebben. Voor dit allereerste project heeft ze zich omringd met artiesten die haar na aan het hart liggen

She studied classical music at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, and at the same time benefited from the mentorship of saxophonist and composer Fabrizio Cassol. She has performed with Magic Malik, the Orchestre National de Jazz des Jeunes and more recently with the group Aka Moon, whose latest album Quality of Joy features her. With this quartet, Adèle presents her own compositions for the first time. It's a meeting place for the worlds that touch and amuse her, a blend of lyricism and rhythmic games with a few touches of minimalist atmosphere. Exploring a wide range of improvisations and taking up the challenge of a quartet without a ‘bass’, where the low notes of the cello and piano take over alternately, she has surrounded herself for this very first project with artists who are close to her heart.
