Description

C’est en 2014 que Maria Spyroglou et Christos Sarantidis ont fondé Cabaretiko. Tous deux implantés à Bruxelles, ils sont tombés amoureux, très jeunes du Rebetiko. Cette musique des années 30, 40, est considérée comme le blues de la Grèce. Ils jouent depuis lors cette musique et reprennent aujourd’hui des morceaux aux sons du Rebetiko d’Athènes et de Smyrne. Nikos Prosilias a rejoint le groupe comme soliste au bouzouki dans ce projet. Andreas
Mantzaris ajoute une rythmique profonde au piano qui se mélange au rythme sûr de la guitare rebétique de Christos Sarantidis, le tout porté par la voix solaire et captivante de Maria. Giorgos Babanis, accordéoniste confirmé, est convié à ce projet où il accompagne le groupe de ses longues notes langoureuses. Pour la première fois dans
le groupe, la Grèce dialoguera avec l’Egypte grâce au violoniste confirmé Riad Abdel-Gawad.

Tijdens dit KET concert introduceren enkele toppers uit het vak de kinderen in de wereld van de jazz. Bruno Vansina (Saxofoon), Louise Van Den Heuvel (Bas) en Teun Verbruggen (Drum) vormen samen Vansina trio. Hoewel de naam Vansina trio naar de saxofonist verwijst, is het een echt trio: de som is groter dan de delen. Verwacht geen swing maar alles waar de hedendaagse jazz voor staat: eigen composities, ritmische en harmonische virtuositeit en bovenal tonnen energie en speelplezier. FR - Lors de ce concert du KET, des professionnels de haut niveau initieront les enfants au monde du jazz. Bruno Vansina (saxophone), Louise Van Den Heuvel (basse) et Teun Verbruggen (batterie) forment ensemble le Vansina trio. Bien que le nom Vansina trio fasse référence au saxophoniste, il s'agit d'un véritable trio : la somme est plus grande que les parties. Ne vous attendez pas à du swing, mais à tout ce que le jazz contemporain représente : compositions personnelles, virtuosité rythmique et harmonique et, surtout, beaucoup d'énergie et de plaisir de jouer. EN - At this KET concert, some top performers in the business introduce the children to the world of jazz. What do you get when you add Bruno Vansina (Saxophone), Louise Van Den Heuvel (Bass) and Teun Verbruggen (Drum) together? Vanssina trio! Although the name Vansina trio refers to the saxophonist, it is a real trio: the sum is greater than the parts. ********** English ********** At each session, which consists of two parts, four different semi-finalists are scheduled. The first two play a Mozart concerto, to be chosen from concertos K. 207 (No. 1 in B flat major), K. 211 (No.2 in D major) and K. 218 (No. 4 in D major), accompanied by the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, conducted by Vahan Mardirossion. After the break, the other two perform their recital with piano accompaniment. The jury will choose one of two recital programmes proposed by the candidate, each including works of the candidate’s choice and the compulsory unpublished work written especially for this year’s edition (world première on Monday 13 May 2024). He is considered one of today’s most versatile guitarists, as virtuosic and sensitive on a classical guitar as he is on a Fender Stratocaster. His innovative approach to the instrument has earned him a reputation as the musician with “one of the most discerning ears in the business” (Gramophone). He has already won a carload of prestigious awards, most recently the 2022 Leonard Bernstein Award. His critically acclaimed recordings have won him two Gramophone Awards, an Opus Klassik, and a Grammy nomination in 2024 in the 'Best Classical Vocal Album' category for his album Broken Branches (Pentatone) recorded with tenor Karim Sulayman. Sean Shibe has been nominated by the Barbican Centre as part of the ECHO (European Concert Hall Organisation) Rising Stars project, which takes outstanding young soloists on a tour of concert halls across the European network. ********** Français ********** Bien que nommé « ECHO Rising Star », Sean Shibe est déjà une star à part entière. A few months ago, she was at AB as support act to Cafuné, but now she comes to perform in her own right. ********** Français ********** ISE de Bree se porte bien ! À peine âgée de 18 ans, elle a déjà remporté la compétition musicale belge Sound Track, le concours international de musique Imagine Music Experience, s'est produite sur la scène de Pukkelpop et du Festival Sziget en Hongrie, et en plus de cela a récemment été désignée comme l'une des trois lauréates de "De Nieuwe Lichting" de Studio Brussel.Cette jeune auteure-compositrice-interprète se distingue par sa voix singulière, ses chansons authentiques et ses émotions sincères.
