It is in especially between these walls that the treaties giving birth to the European Economic Community (EEC) were born or that certain Belgian federal governments were formed. The estate is still managed by the Prime Minister’s office today, which opens up their doors to us for a concert in this both historically and architecturally exceptional place. If you can perceive the abbey dependance, which is more visible at the front of the estate, we nevertheless invite you to discover the castle itself, a bit hidden and all the more impressive. It is in its famous Gothic room that we’ll invite you to come and listen to the young folk duo Siger. He offers instrumental music that is moving from the first note. The Ward brothers and Hartwin Dhoore create their own musical universe with the octave mandola and the diatonic accordion. The accompanying stories illustrate the music as a whole. With nearly 15 years of stage experience, they perform with humor and delicacy, and are not at their first attempt. Traveling across Europe, the United States and Canada, they have made a name for themselves with successful groups and projects such as Trio Dhoore, Estbel, The Flemish Folk Caravan. Their debut album Rodeland is a musical tribute to the Land of Rode, the beautiful region where they come from.

C’est notamment entre ces murs que les traités donnant naissance à la Communauté économique européenne (CEE) ont vu le jour ou que certains gouvernements fédéraux belges ont été formés. Le domaine est aujourd’hui encore géré par le cabinet du premier Ministre qui nous accueille pour un concert dans ce lieu exceptionnel, tant historiquement qu’architecturalement. Si vous visualisez peut-être le prieuré, plus visible à l’avant du domaine, nous vous invitons néanmoins à découvrir le château en lui-même, davantage caché et d’autant plus impressionnant. C’est dans le cadre de sa célèbre salle gothique que nous vous proposons de venir écouter le jeune duo folk Siger. Il propose une musique instrumentale qui touche dès la première note. Les frères Ward et Hartwin Dhoore créent leur propre univers musical à la mandole d’octave et à l’accordéon diatonique. Les histoires qui les accompagnent illustrent la musique en formant un tout. Avec près de 15 ans d’expérience scénique, ils se produisent avec humour et finesse et n’en sont pas à leur coup d’essai. Sillonnant l’Europe, les États-Unis et le Canada, ils ont fait leurs preuves avec des groupes et projets à succès tels que Trio Dhoore, Estbel, The Flemish Folk Caravan. Leur premier album Rodeland est un hommage musical au Pays de Rode, la belle région dont ils sont originaires.

Het was bijvoorbeeld binnen deze muren dat de verdragen tot stand kwamen die de basis vormen van de huidige Europese Unie, of dat sommige Belgische federale regeringen werden geformeerd. Het landgoed wordt nog steeds beheerd door het kabinet van de premier, en daarom zijn wij bijzonder opgetogen dat wij op deze historische en waardevolle plaats een concert kunnen organiseren. Het priorijgebouw, zichtbaar aan de voorkant van het domein, is gekend. Wij nodigen je echter uit om het indrukwekkende kasteel te bezoeken waar tal van bekende internationale gasten logeerden. In de befaamde gotische zaal treedt het jonge folkduo Siger op. Siger brengt sferische instrumentale muziek die raakt vanaf de eerste noot. Op octaaf-mandoline en diatonische accordeon creëren de broers Ward en Hartwin Dhoore hun eigen muzikale universum. Hun bijhorende verhalen versterken de muziek en vormen samen één geheel. Met meer dan 15 jaar podiumervaring op de teller doen ze dit alles met de nodige humor en finesse. De broers verdienden reeds hun sporen als de geoliede machine achter succesvolle bands en projecten zoals Trio Dhoore, Estbel, The Flemish Folk Caravan… en toerden doorheen heel Europa, de VS en Canada. Hun debuutalbum Rodeland is een muzikale ode aan het Land van Rode, de prachtige streek die de broers thuis noemen.
