Description

Alexander Baboian – GuitarMilan Verbist – PianoJef Manderveld – BassSimon van Brandt – Drums  Boston-born guitarist Alexander Baboian leads a quartet featuring a powerful rhythm section of fellow graduates of the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen. The quartet is devoted to expressing the classic sound of American Jazz with fresh colors through powerful interpretations of underperformed repertoire of Jazz composers such as Horace Silver, Kenny Dorham, Billy Strayhorn, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane and Charles Mingus.  Described by renowned music educator Hal Crook in JazzWax as a “future major voice in jazz,” and by All About Jazz as “a superb composer, an original improviser, and an apt bandleader,” Alexander graduated from the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in 2014 where he received awards for outstanding achievement from the guitar department and represented the college in major festivals such as the Washington DC Jazz Festival, the Beantown Jazz Festival, and the JEN Jazz Conference. He was invited to Belgium in 2021 on scholarship from the VLUHR and has had the pleasure of working at major venues and festivals in Europe such as the Bimhuis Amsterdam, De Singel Antwerp, Hot Club Gent, A-Trane Berlin, U Malého Glena Prague and Opus Club Budapest.. VIDEO LINK : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-PTa_Zto7EFREE ENTRANCE 1 drink mandatory
