French comic book artist Hugues Labiano's narration, with its permanent fluidity, places us alongside the protagonists, for a stunning immersion. His original plates reveal an intense chiaroscuro, which perfectly conveys the violence of this 1930's America strangled by poverty and crime.

ID chapter I construction is a research that celebrates identity using different artistic means as vessels to raise questions about who we are as individuals and as a whole. Who am I to myself? Who am I to others? How do I define myself? Am I conscious that I’m living, and to what extend? How do people’s perceptions of me interfere with my own? Digging into these existential questions, following with attention to the complex landscape of the human experience, is the underlying study that motivates this research that’s probably the project of a lifetime. Practically, the project will be divided into chapters. Each chapter will be the object of a specific study. iD chapter I construction will bring about a conversation on the deconstruction of identity, whether intimate or collective: when who we are to ourselves is no more defined by a name, a gender, a race or a job. In Back Room 109, Gabri Molist presents his latest publication and translates the images of his comic into the three-dimensional. In the space, two billboards face each other. On the panels are two landscapes: a road and a rocky corridor. The clean lines of the highway and the architectural elements of the space impress, but be sure to note the shy speech bubble that partially hides his body behind a corner. However, the presence of these billboards remains a mystery: you wonder where they came from, who brought them there and how did they end up there. Curious? Come to VROOM between 7/6 and 30/6 and discover this exciting exhibition that plays with the medium of the comic strip.

Welkom om het glas te heffen op de vernissage van Edith De Baere's expo! Edith laat zich drijven op haar gedachten, gedachten die zich niet laten vangen. Terwijl de wereld verder raast en zij haar rug recht en haar spieren opspant om te blijven staan, te blijven gaan, als single mam, als vrouw als,... probeert ze potloden te laten spreken, donkere houtskoolvegen vormen een gelaat, een vage herinnering. Droedels leven weer op. Beelden smelten samen in een nieuwe droomwereld. Het is een tocht door diepe wouden, op zoek naar zichzelf, hoe haar stemt klinkt op papier, hoe tranen laten spreken en hoe de pijn van onrecht zwijgend de ogen opent.
