Director Milo Rau delves into the darker and more taboo areas of society. He
examines the tragic events of our history and confronts us with the violence of
the world.
novel with Pasolini’s film and sets them in the present. Created with Theater
Stap, the play examines the notions of power and voyeurism.
Between the search for pleasure and the fear of decline, La Dernière génération,
ou les 120 journées de Sodome exposes the contradictions of our time,
highlighting the coexistence of luxury and torment, the obsession with
normalization and the taste for petty bourgeois scandal.

Transquinquennal, a famously funny company founded in 1989, has accustomed us to
breaking things: breaking down the narrative, tearing down the fourth wall,
eliminating hierarchies. Today, it is its own imminent disappearance that it is
announcing.
This show is therefore the last creation of Miguel Decleire, Stéphane Olivier
and Bernard Breuse. The process that began with the three of them has been
enriched by four additional artists: Sara Selma Dolorès, Charlotte Ducousso,
Francine Landrain and Alexandra Bouron. The seven of them have imagined a
diptych, Là maintenant, that ends here and now, as they welcome the future –
what awaits us and what we do not know.
Transquinquennal questions our relationship to others and the possible
transformation of the world as we know it. In this ‘final’ play, we explore
alternative paths together, starting from a positive observation: if there’s no
solution, it’s because there’s no problem.

Imagine a concert with a single song performed over and over and where the
musicians are also athletes, where the concert hall becomes a theatre, an arena,
a gymnasium – all this set to the beat of a compulsive and random metronome.
With ONE SONG, performer and director Miet Warlop dives deeper into her
extravagant and visionary world. In this hyper-physical performance, she
combines theatre and pop culture (stadium, sports, pop, musicals, etc.). The
twelve performers on stage are pushed to extremes: a violinist perched on a
beam, a double bass player lying on their back and building up their abs, a
drummer jumping up and down, a singer on a treadmill … A hypnotic performance
that is performed over and over at an insistent, frenetic pace.
The fourth part of the Histoire(s) du théâtre series, this show can be seen as a
metaphor for our society that has an invigorating parodic effect. In this
amusing and literally haunting experience, spectators will move between
amazement, dazzlement and ecstasy. They will emerge transcended from this
celebration.

gelouterd huiswaarts keert.

This is the story of an only daughter growing up in the 1960s, the roaring years
of women’s emancipation and sexual liberation. Alongside her parents, she meets
a host of more or less eccentric characters: Mamy Pilule, Papy with the burned
face, Marraine, the little neighbour, Sœur Thérèse, Elvira Madigan, the dentist
and the doctor, the girlfriend on the telephone, the best friend, the Other, the
architect, the collaborator, Karajan and Richter, the jeweller’s son, the
soulmate, the big neighbour, Woody (Allen), Bruno Cremer, Akerman (Chantal), the
impotent and … Serge Reggiani.
This stage adaptation of Virginie Jortay’s novel consists of thirty brief
tableaux, instant sequences that follow one another in quick succession – the
same way you turn the pages of an absorbing book. In a score for two narrators
and a doll, the two actresses – Janine Godinas and Anne Sylvain – embody the
different voices and interpret this child across the different stages that link
her to a mother who is probably ill. Between the two: absence, silences, all
that has been left unsaid. Blunt writing that transports us between past and
present as in a rally, until the final revelation, hinted at since the
beginning. A taboo of inconceivable obviousness.
Ces enfants-là is a total show in which set, music and lighting design are very
important. They are the joint creators of a living universe that is now
oppressive, now funny: a shaggy carpet with a life of its own, miscellaneous
objects containing memories from time immemorial, images projected on a screen …
