De Fonnefeesten zijn inmiddels een begrip geworden. In 2013 mochten ze uit handen van het stadsbestuur de prijs van “Meest verdienstelijke Lokeraar” in ontvangst nemen. In 2015, gedreven door bouwplannen op de Vismijn en het feit dat de Polifonics ermee ophielden, werd besloten te verhuizen naar het Prinses Josephine Charlottepark. Deze verhuis een succes noemen zou een understatement zijn. De nieuwe locatie bleek zowaar nog gezelliger. Ze gaf de organisatie een nieuwe boost en van daaruit een extra dimensie aan het concept. Het aantal bezoekers nam nog toe en de commentaren waren laaiend en unaniem enthousiast.
Every year, the city carilloneur Kenneth Theunissen performs carillon concerts from the Belfry the whole summer long. From the Sint-Baafsplein, you can enjoy the concerts and watch them on a screen. There's no need to book. Every year, the Ghent Organ Centre, an organisation that keeps the art of the organ alive, organises an organ festival in St Bavo's Cathedral. Louis Bys and Pierre Destrée built the organ between 1653 and 1655. It bears the coat of arms of bishop Triest, who gifted the organ to the cathedral. Every year, guest organists from around the world come to Gent to give it their all during the International Organ Festival. Are you driving to Ghent?
