basis for being نرگس

A house party in the Tehran of 1991. This is the setting for a re-enactment that choreographer Sina Saberi has established. She invites us to re-create that evening together, and choreographically (re)discover ourselves and our/the past. Different roles come into play: the child, the decadent person, and the dancer draw the present to take you through different ways of being that together form the basis of our existence.  The host travels with the audience through moving images of a past. Only, it is up to us to choose: are we the guest who only wants to observe, or the guest who perhaps wants to participate in the dance?  During her residency at K3, Iranian choreographer Sina Saberi explored both traditional and contemporary forms of movement in an Iranian cultural context. She seeks a choreographic process of memory, studying moving images of a past that is neither personal nor present.  *گس or Narges is a Persian word that a woman's name, an allusion to the eye of the beloved, and the word for daffodil.   • Sina Saberi is a choreographer, communication scholar, and cultural manager from Tehran, based in Germany. Her practice and research are inspired by her cultural background and revolve around the art form of dance as an alternative state of being. Where can the personal and the public connect and ultimately reach a point of unity? This is reflected in her trilogy Prelude, Damnoosh & Narges, which she has been sharing internationally since 2016. She is the founder of Ka.keshan, an undefined space for choreographic creation and dance outreach.

Une fête dans une maison à Téhéran en 1991. Tel est le cadre d'une reconstitution que la chorégraphe Sina Saberi met en scène. Elle nous invite à recréer cette soirée ensemble, en nous (re)découvrant chorégraphiquement, nous /le (s) passé (s). Différents rôles seront abordés : l'enfant, la personne dépravée et le danseur sont présents pour vous faire découvrir différentes manières d'être qui, ensemble, constituent la base de notre existence.  L'hôtesse voyage avec le public à travers les images animées d'un passé. À nous de choisir : sommes-nous les invité·es qui souhaitent simplement observer ou les convives qui veulent peut-être participer à la danse ? La chorégraphe iranienne Sina Saberi explore durant sa résidence au K3 les formes de mouvement traditionnelles et contemporaines dans un contexte culturel iranien. Elle s’immerge dans un processus chorégraphique de mémoire, pour lequel elle étudie des images en mouvement d'un passé qui n'est ni personnel ni présent.  *نرگس ou Narges est un nom propre en persan pour les femmes, une allusion à l'œil de l'être aimé et au mot pour le narcisse.  • Sina Saberi est une chorégraphe, chercheuse en communication et gestionnaire culturel originaire de Téhéran et basée en Allemagne. Sa pratique et ses recherches s'inspirent de ses origines culturelles et tournent autour de la danse en tant qu'état d'être alternatif. Où le personnel et le public peuvent-ils se connecter et finalement atteindre un point d'appartenance ? Cette question se reflète dans sa trilogie Prelude, Damnoosh & Narges, qu'elle partage à l'échelle internationale depuis 2016. Elle est la fondatrice de Ka.keshan ; un espace indéterminé pour la création chorégraphique et la sensibilisation à la danse.

Een huisfeestje in het Teheran van 1991. Dat is de setting voor een re-enactment die choreograaf Sina Saberi opzet. Ze nodigt ons uit om samen die avond opnieuw te creëren, en op een choreografische manier onszelf én ons/het verleden te (her)ontdekken. Verschillende rollen komen daarbij aan bod: het kind, de ontaarde persoon en de danser tekenen present om je mee op sleeptouw te nemen door verschillende manieren van zijn, die samen de basis van ons bestaan vormen.  De host reist samen met het publiek door bewegende beelden van een verleden. Alleen is het aan ons om te kiezen: zijn we de gast die enkel wil observeren, of de gast die misschien wil participeren aan de dans? Tijdens haar residentie in K3, verkent de Iraanse choreograaf Sina Saberi zowel traditionele als hedendaagse vormen van beweging binnen een Iraanse culturele context. Ze gaat op zoek naar een choreografisch proces van herinnering, waarvoor ze bewegende beelden van een verleden bestudeert dat noch persoonlijk noch aanwezig is.  * نرگس of Narges is in het Perzisch een eigennaam voor vrouwen, een toespeling op het oog van de geliefde en het woord voor de narcis.   • Sina Saberi  is choreograaf, communicatiewetenschapper en cultureel manager uit Teheran, gevestigd in Duitsland. Haar praktijk en onderzoek zijn geïnspireerd door haar culturele achtergrond en draaien om de kunstvorm dans als een alternatieve staat van zijn. Waar kunnen het persoonlijke en het publieke zich met elkaar verbinden en uiteindelijk een punt van saamhorigheid bereiken? Dit wordt weerspiegeld in haar trilogie Prelude, Damnoosh & Narges die ze sinds 2016 internationaal deelt. Sina is de oprichter van Ka.keshan; een onbepaalde ruimte voor choreografische creatie en dans outreach.
