inspiratie voor het spelen van kamermuziek - en in het bijzonder pianotrio – in
het toneelspel: een voortdurende zoektocht naar karakters en interpretatie van
de verschillende rollen in het ensemble. Met deze communicatieve aanpak bereiken
de Nederlandse violiste Emma Rhebergen, de Amerikaanse celliste Anna Litvinenko
en de Belgische pianiste Fem Devos sinds 2016 het publiek. Het ensemble won in
2018 de tweede prijs op de Internationale Muziekwedstrijd Triomphe de l’Art in
Brussel, en was finalist van de Ysaÿe International Music Competition in Luik in
2019. In 2022 selecteerde het Orlando Festival het Chekhov Trio voor een
concerttournee met optredens op gevierde locaties als het Concertgebouw
Amsterdam en Bozar Brussel. In het najaar van 2022 kwam de debuut-cd van het
Chekhov Trio uit bij het label Etcetera Records, met werken van Chausson, Martin
en Bosmans. Het Chekhov Trio profileert zich als een modern ensemble dat ook
oren heeft naar de historisch geïnformeerde uitvoeringspraktijk. Masterclasses
bij onder meer Henk Guittart, Osiris Trio, Shunske Sato, Shuann Chai en
Sigiswald Kuijken hebben hieraan bijgedragen.

TRIOTreating chamber music as theatre has been at the core of the Dutch-Belgian
based Chekhov Trio’s approach since its very beginning. The ensemble came
together in 2016 out of a love for the endless exploration of characters and
roles music can take, and to this day Dutch violinist Emma Rhebergen, American
cellist Anna Litvinenko and Belgian pianist Fem Devos retain that as their modus
operandi.These years the Chekhov Trio has made itself known throughout Belgium
and The Netherlands, performing on many of the area’s fine stages, appearing on
the Dutch national radio and also gaining recognition in international
competitions. The trio won the second prize in the 2018 International Music
Competition Triomphe de l’Art in Brussels and became a finalist in the 2019
Ysaÿe International Music Competition in Liège. In 2022, the Orlando Festival
