Upcoming events

From Saturday 13 April to Sunday 1 September 2024, the Bruges Triennial brings Spaces of Possibility to the streets of the historic city centre and Zeebrugge. The contemporary art and architectural installations are on view for almost five whole months. For our fourth edition, we’ve invited twelve international artists and architects to hold a mirror up to the dormant potential of the ever-changing city. How can a UNESCO World Heritage City, where preservation is central, deal with concepts such as change and sustainability? And how can contemporary art and architecture create a new framework for these issues? Through their artistic interventions, the artists and architects challenge existing sites, connect urban areas and search for hidden beauty. – 13.04 - 01.09.2024 – Bruges city centre and Zeebrugge – always open, always free – triennalebrugge.be

About

The Bruges Triennial brings contemporary art and architecture to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bruges. Every three years, an artistic team invites (inter)national artists and architects to develop new site-specific installations for the city. Starting from a predetermined/overarching theme, they occupy the public space for five months with contemporary creations that make you think about the city, its future and challenges – on both a local and global scale. The Bruges Triennial occupies a unique place in the Belgian arts landscape thanks to these temporary, artistic interventions.
