The trio creates a new music theater project ‘Alexandra’s soul’ about the great traveler-writer Alexandra David-Néel (1868-1969).
The music is classical music from India, the lyrics are inspired by two classical texts worked out by Alexandra.
The first is from Milarepa (10th – 12th century) the yogi Buddhist poet from Tibet, and his famous poem ‘The Hundred Thousand Songs.
The second is the Vedanta text Avadhuta Gita, attributed to the legendary writer Dattatreya. A very old Sanskrit text appearing in the 10th century.
On those texts the trio creates classical music and more.
Subhankar Chatterjee is a great vocal musician with a culture ranging from Vedic to Khayal songs, passing by Dhrupad. He has a strong baritone educated voice an great rhythmic agility.
Daniel Schell, plays the tiptar (tapping guitar) and has made a specialty of accompanying classical Indian music.
Sandip Banerjee is an experimented tabla player with outstanding rhythmic force. He has played through the world, teaching and performing in classical style and more
All three players are long time teacher in the Sangit Academy Brussels.
