Cette année, l’exposition collective annuelle de la Galerie Vertige portera sur la thématique du F(L)OU.
L'ambiguïté entre FOU et FLOU permet de décliner plusieurs interprétations riches en possibilités créatives. Un grand nombre d’artistes a répondu présent à cette intrigante invitation.
Nous leur avons proposé de renoncer à vouloir ne voir que ce qui est net.
Elles/Ils ont fait appel au f(l)ou qui est en elles/eux en laissant s'exprimer leur folie créative.
L’exposition vous encourage à lâcher prise et à voir si le f(l)ou qui naît d’une photo, d’une sculpture, d’une peinture peut rendre plus clair ce qu’on y perçoit.

ID chapter I construction is a research that celebrates identity using different artistic means as vessels to raise questions about who we are as individuals and as a whole. Who am I to myself? Who am I to others? How do I define myself? Am I conscious that I’m living, and to what extend? How do people’s perceptions of me interfere with my own? Digging into these existential questions, following with attention to the complex landscape of the human experience, is the underlying study that motivates this research that’s probably the project of a lifetime. Practically, the project will be divided into chapters. Each chapter will be the object of a specific study. iD chapter I construction will bring about a conversation on the deconstruction of identity, whether intimate or collective: when who we are to ourselves is no more defined by a name, a gender, a race or a job. ********** English ********** W.Fox is a Belgian artist who lived from Mumbai to Montreal, and Lisbon to London in the last 10 years. Living in different environments has pushed forward their comprehension of the cultural impact on our ways of understanding our surroundings and each other. The process started in 2015 in the Quebec capital when Fox was introduced to the Cyanotype printing method. At the time, working in documentary and fashion photography, the photographer began a passion for understanding the way humans read imagery and playing within those rules. Perceptions started there. Being neurodivergent, they also saw and perceived life through their unique lens. Through social adaptation to the condition, their interest in the distinctions in discernment grew. After exhibiting around the world, it is a pleasure for the artist to return to their home country and have conversations within the culture that made their education and started all those questions. ********** Français ********** W.Fox est un artiste belge qui a vécu de Mumbai à Montréal et de Lisbonne à Londres au cours des 10 dernières années. Vivre dans des environnements différents a fait progresser leur compréhension de l’impact culturel sur nos façons de comprendre notre environnement et les uns les autres. Le processus a débuté en 2015 dans la capitale québécoise lorsque Fox s'est initié à la méthode d'impression cyanotype. À l’époque, travaillant dans la photographie documentaire et de mode, le photographe a commencé à se passionner et tenter de comprendre la façon dont les humains lisent les images, pour ensuite jouer avec ces regles de visions. Perceptions commença là. Étant neurodivergents, iel voyait et percevait également la vie à travers leur lentille unique. Grâce à l'adaptation sociale à leur condition, leur intérêt pour les distinctions en matière de discernement s'est accru. Het leven in verschillende omgevingen zorgde voor een beter inzicht in de culturele impact op de manier waarop we onze omgeving en elkaar begrijpen. Het proces begon in 2015 in de hoofdstad van Quebec toen Fox kennis maakte met de cyanotype-afdrukmethode. De fotograaf werkte destijds in de documentaire- en modefotografie en begon een passie te krijgen voor het proberen te begrijpen hoe mensen beelden lezen, en vervolgens te spelen met deze visieregels. Wij verwelkomen je graag op 27 juni voor de boekvoorstelling en vernissage van Antonino Triolo en Ukkelse kinderen. Deze getalenteerde artiest werkte gedurende 1 week samen met kinderen (9 - 12 jaar) die deelnamen aan onze speelweek. Samen creëerde ze kunst rond zijn boek "Vaders van de Brusselse Halsbandparkiet". De week resulteerde in een opvoering waarbij kunst, theater en verhaal in elkaar vloeiden. En nu kan ook jij het resultaat bewonderen in hun expositie in aanwezigheid van de kunstenaars zelf. Boek - Vaders van de Brusselse Halsbandparkiet De Brusselse halsbandparkiet, ook jij kent hem. Maar waarom dit groene verwijt door onze stad vliegt en in onze parken slaapt, weet je niet. Er doen verschillende verhalen de ronde. Based on this seemingly "simple and basic" thematic approach, the aim is to talk "cash" about the material situation of artists who are considered marginal by the society in which they live. The exhibition brings together works from various Belgian and French collections, and highlights the work of artists represented by the Galerie du moineau écarlate in Paris. Curated by Céline Delavaux and Eric Gauthier of the Galerie du moineau écarlate (Paris), in collaboration with the het Art et marges museum. ********** Français ********** Comment les artistes « brut·es » parlent-ils et parlent-elles de cash ? L’argent est-il présent dans leurs œuvres, et sous quelles formes ? À partir de cette approche thématique, en apparence « simple et basique », il s’agit de parler de manière « cash » de la situation matérielle des artistes qui sont considéré·es comme marginaux·ales par la société dans laquelle ils et elles vivent. L'exposition rassemblera des œuvres issues de diverses collections belges et françaises et l'univers d'artistes représenté·es par la Galerie du moineau écarlate à Paris sera mis en exergue.
