FR : A l’occasion de son festival “L’heure d’hiver 2024 – ATHÈNES”, le Cinéma Galeries vous présente “Grief: those who remain”. Ses réalisateurs Myrto Patsalidou et Maria Louka y explorent le thème du deuil et de l’absence à travers trois histoires d'homicides qui ont secoué la société grecque et européenne : celui du pakistanais Shahzad Luqman, du rappeur antifasciste Pavlos Fyssas et du militant lgbtqia+ Zak Kostopoulos. A travers le regard des familles des victimes, se dessine une ode à la mémoire des morts où les douleurs intimes se transforment en combat pour le bien commun et la justice.
💬 La projection sera suivie d’une Q&A avec "Les Amis de Zak/Zackie en Belgique", un groupe d’activistes, d'artistes et de travailleurs culturels vivant en Belgique et réclamant justice pour Zak Kostopoulos, un militant grec queer séropositif et drag queen (Zackie Oh!), lynché à mort le 21 septembre 2018 à Athènes par 2 commerçants et 8 policiers.

EN : On the occasion of its festival "L'heure d'hiver 2024 - ATHÈNES", the Cinéma Galeries presents "Grief: those who remain". Its directors Myrto Patsalidou and Maria Louka explore the theme of grief and absence through three stories of homicides that have shaken Greek and European society: that of Pakistani Shahzad Luqman, anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas and lgbtqia+ activist Zak Kostopoulos. Through the eyes of the victims' families, an ode to the memory of the dead takes shape, where intimate pain is transformed into a fight for the common good and justice.
💬 The screening will be followed by a Q&A with "Les Amis de Zak/Zackie en Belgique", a group of activists, artists and cultural workers living in Belgium and demanding justice for Zak Kostopoulos, an HIV-positive queer Greek activist and drag queen (Zackie Oh!), lynched to death on 21 September 2018 in Athens by 2 shopkeepers and 8 police officers.
