C'est désormais dès janvier que le D Festival prendra ses quartiers. Le D c'est 2 semaines de danse dans des lieux dont les programmations sont intrinsèquement imprégnées d'autres arts de la scène + un bonus, un workshot issu de la pépinière d'artistes le Garage 29, pour tâter le terrain de ce qui se prépare. Des photos aussi, celles de Maël G. Lagadec, capturant des corps en mouvement.Telle une boutique, une vitrine de la vivacité de la danse à Bruxelles, le D présente trois créations, une première belge et une reprise, un workshot et une expo. C'est tout cela que ce festival à taille humaine offrira du 27 janvier au 10 février.En 2021, le festival brandissait la phrase de Pina Bausch « Danser, danser sinon nous sommes perdus ». Les spectacles de cette édition sont en partie issus des reports de la saison 2020-21. Voortaan wordt het startsein voor het D Festival in januari gegeven. Om een idee te krijgen van wat er op stapel staat, pakt het D uit met 2 weken dans in ruimten met een programmatie die intrinsiek doordrongen is van andere podiumkunsten + een bonus en een workshot, ontkiemd in de artistieke kweekgrond Garage 29. En dan zijn er ook nog de foto’s van Maël G. Lagadec die lichamen in beweging vastleggen.Voor het publiek is de zonnewende het moment van de afspraak om het parcours te volgen dat loopt van Elsene, Etterbeek tot Schaarbeek, een traject boordevol artistieke voorstellen die de ene maal met elkaar resoneren en de andere maal vormelijk van elkaar verschillen. Voor de professionals is dit nieuwe initiatief de gelegenheid bij uitstek om kunstenaars te ontdekken en te programmeren voor het volgende seizoen. Voor een aantal kunstenaars is dit ook het moment om toe te treden tot Propulse off.Het D biedt een vitrine op de dynamiek van de dans in Brussel en pakt uit met drie creaties en een Belgische première, een reprise, een workshot en een tentoonstelling. Ontdek het uitgebreide programma van dit festival op mensenmaat van 27 januari tot 10 februari 2022. Met open ogen en deuren worden volgende thema’s geëxploreerd : het patriarchaat (Formless Mirror (she who reveals) van de Argentijnse choreografe Agostina d’Alessandro), kunstmatige intelligentie (Audrey Lucie door Oriane Varak, Franse choreografe), intieme grenzen (Prémisse – solo gecreëerd en vertolkt door de Franse Thi mai Nguyen), zorg en warmte (door de Brusselse Fanny Brouyaux, vertolkster en choreografe), choreografie voor het oor en voor Balkanritmes (door choreografe en dichteres Claire Huber), een mogelijke transpositie van de principes van de permacultuur naar de dans (Jason Respillieux, G.incubator).De fototentoonstelling ‘Extrase sacré’ van Maël G. Lagadec mixt twee reeksen van lichamen in beweging en is ook na het festival te bezichtigen in de Bar du Marni).In 2021 stond het festival in het teken van een uitspraak van Pina Bausch : « Dans, dans, anders zijn we verloren ». De voorstellingen van deze editie zijn gedeeltelijk het gevolg van de uitgestelde optredens van het seizoen 2020-21. The D Festival will now start in January. The D is two weeks of dance in venues whose programmes largely feature other performing arts, plus the bonus of a workshot from Garage 29, that breeding ground for artists, to get a feel for what lies in store for us. There are also photographs by Maël G. Lagadec capturing moving bodies.For audiences, our encounter is shifting from one solstice to the other (summer to winter) and traces a journey to be taken in Ixelles, Etterbeek and Schaerbeek that distils propositions. Sometimes they echo each other but they may also contrast sharply in form. For professionals, this new niche presents an opportunity to discover artists and include them in next season’s programmes. For some of the artists, it is also a chance to be part of Propulse off.Like a shop window showcasing the vibrancy of dance in Brussels, the D is offering three new works, a Belgian premiere, a revival, a workshot and an exhibition. This festival on a human scale will be presenting all this between 27 January and 10 February 2022. With our eyes and doors wide open, the themes covered are patriarchy (Formless Mirror (she who reveals) by the Argentine choreographer Agostina d’Alessandro), artificial intelligence (Audrey Lucie by the French choreographer Oriane Varak), personal limits (Prémisse – a solo created and performed by the French dancer Thi mai Nguyen), care and warmth (by the Brussels-based performer and choreographer Fanny Brouyaux), choreography for listening and Balkan rhythms (by the choreographer and poet Claire Huber) and a possible transposition of permaculture principles to dance (Jason Respillieux, G.incubator).“Extase sacré”, an exhibition of photographs by Maël G. Lagadec, merges two series of moving bodies. The exhibition can be seen at the Bar du Marni after the festival as well. On the closing evening, the visual artist will be presenting a dance and video performance with Carolina Morais Fonseca and bàà (8.03.2022, more information to follow).In 2021, the festival made use of one of Pina Bausch’s expressions : “Dance, dance, otherwise we are lost”. Some of the shows in this edition were postponed from the 2020-21 season.
