In H o l l o w, choreographer Catalina Insignares invites you to attune to the subtle currents running through bodies and spaces. Veins become carriers of sound, caves echo forgotten voices. Through delicate movement, light, and sound, she makes the invisible palpable—from inaudible vibrations to tangible silences. Together with an intimate audience, she opens a space where the sensorial and the fictional blend, and every resonance leaves a trace. • Catalina Insignares is a Colombian choreographer and dancer based in Brussels. She is interested in how to use the sensorial and fictional means of the body and of touch to develop ways to communicate with the invisible. Her practice includes, notably, a duet danced with a participant over a few weeks (us as a useless duet—2015), a night reading addressed to sleeping bodies (useless land—2017), and sensory practices that explore the connections we have with the dead (landscapes of the dead—2019; to know the vultures so well—2022).She always works in collaboration and long-term associations for choreography, dramaturgy, teaching, and performance. Since 2015, she has collaborated with Carolina Mendonça, maintaining a close relationship in different ways of working together. Since 2017, she has been working with Myriam Lefkowitz as a performer, as well as in a collaboration that seeks to infiltrate sensory practices into the social and political realities of exiled people (La facultad—2017).From 2019 to 2022, Catalina developed her research as part of DAS THIRD in Amsterdam. From 2019 to 2024, she was a co-curator at Gessnerallee in Zurich, where she developed the festival El Caldo and the curatorial programme Discrete. Catalina has been periodically invited to intervene at DAS Choreography, as a teacher or mentor, and more recently at P.A.R.T.S for the Master's programme. She also teaches in the Master's Programme in Live Art Forms at the Nuremberg Academy of Fine Arts.

Via subtiele beweging, licht en geluid maakt ze het onzichtbare voelbaar—van onhoorbare vibraties tot tastbare stiltes. Samen met een intiem publiek opent ze een ruimte waar het sensoriële en het fictionele in elkaar overvloeien, en waar elke resonantie een spoor nalaat. • Catalina Insignares is een Colombiaanse choreografe en danseres, gevestigd in Brussel. Ze onderzoekt hoe het sensorische en fictieve potentieel van het lichaam en van aanraking kan worden ingezet om te communiceren met het onzichtbare. Haar praktijk omvat onder meer een duet dat gedurende enkele weken wordt gedanst met één deelnemer (us as a useless duet, 2015), een nachtelijke lezing gericht aan slapende lichamen (useless land, 2017), en sensorische praktijken die de verbindingen met de doden verkennen (landscapes of the dead, 2019; to know the vultures so well, 2022).Ze werkt steeds in samenwerking en op lange termijn, binnen choreografie, dramaturgie, lesgeven en performance. Sinds 2015 heeft ze een doorlopende samenwerking met Carolina Mendonça, met wie ze op verschillende manieren samenwerkt. Sinds 2017 werkt ze met Myriam Lefkowitz, zowel als performer als binnen een samenwerking die sensorische praktijken probeert te laten infiltreren in de sociale en politieke realiteit van mensen in ballingschap (La facultad—2017).Van 2019 tot 2022 ontwikkelde Catalina haar onderzoek als onderdeel van DAS THIRD in Amsterdam.
