Description
After the successful revival of the movie "Murder on the Orient Express" in 2017, Kenneth Branagh takes the advantage of this momentum and writes and directs, arguably his most personal film in 2021, which one year later, at the Oscars of 2022, gives him the winner trophy in the category Best Original Screenplay. With the movie "Belfast", Branagh returns to his hometown and narrates how he experienced the last months of his stay in his beloved Belfast, the year in which the nationalist conflict in Northern Ireland began.
With this film we would like to reflect on the difficulty of living with (political) differences, and the importance of good family support in the midst of social conflict.
