Description

Mechelen-based sludge/post-metal band Pothamus was formed in 2013 by Michael Lombarts, Mattias M. Van Hulle and Sam Coussens. What mainly characterises them is their atmospheric mix of repetitive riffs, soaring drone and tribal percussion. The music explores deeper meanings inspired by Eastern philosophy and Western esotericism, creating an enchanting experience beyond the mundane. Their debut album Raya (2020) immediately impressed critics and fans alike and led to performances on major Belgian and international stages. With their second album Abur, to be released in 2025, they continue their spiritual musical journey.

Pothamus, groupe de sludge/post-metal basé à Malines, a été formé en 2013 par Michael Lombarts, Mattias M. Van Hulle et Sam Coussens. Ce qui les caractérise principalement est leur mélange atmosphérique de riffs répétitifs, de drone planant et de percussions tribales. La musique explore des significations plus profondes inspirées par la philosophie orientale et l'ésotérisme occidental, créant une expérience enchanteresse au-delà du banal. Leur premier album, Raya (2020), a immédiatement impressionné les critiques et les fans et les a conduits à se produire sur les plus grandes scènes belges et internationales. Avec leur deuxième album Abur, qui sortira en 2025, ils poursuivent leur voyage musical spirituel.
