It’s a set of original compositions written with the aim of experimenting with new ways of exposing sound, deepening interactions and the role of each instrument in the group. After researching into the repertoire of the great Fred Hersch, Enrico Pieranunzi and Keith Jarrett, It became very important to try and put down on paper all the inspiration they provided. With this tribute, our spirited [Jeremy Dumont (keyboards), embarked on a TRIBUTE to Chick Corea’s essential ELEKTRIC BAND Federico Milone (sax), Chritsophe Pons (guitar), Jeremy Debwisher (bass), Noam Israel (drums)] wanted to pay fitting tribute to the recently lamented great master.Tight arrangements, awesome sax solos, daring fusions, unbelievable energy.A jazz like you haven’t heard before thanks to five spirited musicians that join us tonight at the House to play tribute to the legendary Chick Corea Elektric Band. Chick Corea was a father and an inspiration to us all. We wanted to honor the Elektrik Band period. This fusion of jazz and electronic music, rock and many other styles of world music, was a revelation for Jérémy Dumont. Enjoy jazz classics by singers such as Tony Bennett, Johnny Hartman, Mel Tormé, and Frank Sinatra, who were born or lived in New York City. All in all, this concert is a popular soundtrack of an integral part of jazz history as originated in New York, New York. Directed by pianist Mathieu De Wit, this international quartet radiates creative energy through jazz jewels. The band’s rhythm section is driven by bassist Ramon van Merkenstein and drummer Lieven Venken. He made his debut in 1995 in various bars in the capital. A self-taught pianist, he plays whenever an opportunity presents itself. Very quickly, he was invited to perform at internationally renowned festivals. Since then, he has played all over Europe. He even went as far as California. Throughout his journey, Sebi Lee had the chance to meet personalities such as Toots Thielemans, Linda Gail Lewis, Sleepy Labeef, The Rubettes, and JD McPherson. For the Brussels Jazz Weekend, Sebi Lee will be performing in trio at VIAGE’s iconic CINNA Bar. Leading on piano, he will be backed by the soulful sounds of the double bass and saxophone, this jazz/swing trio is set to light up the night and get your toes tapping. ********** Français ********** Née d'une famille cosmopolite, Joe Bel a grandi en voyageant entre les Alpes françaises, la mer Méditerranée et l'Amérique du Nord. Elle développa un amour pour la musique dès son plus jeune âge après avoir été bercée par les vinyles de Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Otis Redding, ainsi que les chants traditionnels judéo-espagnols chers à la famille. Instinctive et autodidacte, Joe fait ses tous premiers pas sur scène seule à la guitare en 2012, juste après la naissance de son premier enfant, à l’âge de 23 ans. Quelques mois plus tard, Asaf Avidan découvre sa soul folk envoûtante et lui offre toutes les premières parties de sa tournée européenne. Son EP remarqué, « Hit the Roads », lui a permis de se produire à travers l'Europe et jusqu'au Japon. En 2020, attendant son deuxième enfant, elle se lance dans l’écriture de son deuxième opus, « Family Tree » : une exploration à la recherche de ses origines multiples, alliant folk, mélodies entêtantes et couleurs méditerranéennes. À travers un son toujours organique, en anglais et en français, mais également en ladino, ancien espagnol que parlait encore son grand-père, elle choisit de se dévoiler un peu plus, dans un album qui invite au voyage de la transmission entre les générations. ********** Nederlands ********** Joe Bel werd geboren in een kosmopolitische familie, en groeide op terwijl ze reisde tussen de Franse Alpen, de Middellandse Zee en Noord-Amerika. Ze werd geraakt door de platen van Paul McCartney, George Harrison en Otis Redding, maar evenzeer door de traditionele Joods-Spaanse liederen die haar familie dierbaar zijn. In 2012, op 23-jarige leeftijd, zette ze haar eerste stappen op het podium, solo en met enkel haar gitaar als begeleiding. Enkele maanden later ontdekte Asaf Avidan haar beklijvende folk soul, en bood haar prompt alle support slots aan op zijn Europese tour. Haar veelgeprezen EP ‘Hit the Roads’ bracht haar ondertussen door heel Europa en zelfs Japan, en in 2020 begon ze te schrijven aan ‘Family Tree’, een plaat waarop ze haar meervoudige afkomst exploreert.
