Chaussée De Vleurgat - Vleurgatse Steenweg 91, 1050 Ixelles, Brussels-Capital, Belgium
Description
Brussels’ original Ideas Festival returns this winter for the third edition. For a full weekend, from Friday 29th November to Sunday 1st December 2024, Full Circle House will be the meeting point for thought-provoking ideas, stimulating activities and diverse entertainment, all coming together under the theme of ‘Futures’.
In the midst of vast global, national and local political challenges, Brussels Ideas Festival offers the opportunity to explore possible futures, challenge existing narratives, imagine something new and come together as a community of thought and action. The festival is the answer to a world in business-as-usual mode.
3 DAYS THAT NOURISH MIND, BODY AND SOUL
Open to all, centred on participation and in-depth conversations, the festival invites audiences from Brussels and beyond to explore ideas that matter today and on the horizon of our shared future. Visitors will immerse themselves in a rich programme offering original formats and fresh thinking day and night.
International thinkers and doers will take the stage to share their insightful visions of tomorrow and spark meaningful conversations. The subjects covered are diverse and topical, from the fundamentals of a new economy to peacebuilding, mind shifts, societal transitions, past lessons, love and disobedience, and much more. New this year are mind-bending films and creative workshops, news commentary from the future, revitalising gong bath breaks, captivating short talks.
Among invited speakers are world’s first commissioner for future generations Sophie Howe, Professor of politics Jonathan White, economist and psychotherapist Shinta Oosterwaal, world-renowned bestselling historian Antony Beevor, writer and critic Lyndsey Stonebridge and philosopher & Brusseler Philippe Van Parijs. Local facilitators complete the picture, hosting inspiring, interactive workshops.
