Siga-Silente Piano & Percussion Flamenco, Afrocuba, Greece, Jazz

Description

Yiorgos Bereris - Piano
Lucas Zegrí – Percussion

Sigá y Silente is the result of a collaboration between Andalusian percussionist Lucas Zegrí and Greek pianist Yiorgos Bereris. The two musicians met in 2021 and, despite their different musical backgrounds, found common ground through their shared love of rhythm and melody. The album features entirely original compositions that blend flamenco, Afro-Cuban rhythms, jazz, and traditional Greek music, creating a sound that reflects their diverse influences.

The project includes a special contribution from renowned flamenco singer Blanca La Almendrita, who lends her powerful voice to one track, adding a unique layer to the collection. With instruments like the batá, pandeiro, cajón, and piano, Sigá y Silente weaves togethe a range of global sounds in a way that is both rooted in tradition and open to new interpretations. This album serves as a reflection of their musical journey and an invitation for listeners to experience the rich interplay of different cultures.
