During the Pentecost weekend the city of Ghent presents an annual baroque music
festival with music of the three great masters of German Baroque: Bach, Telemann
and Graupner.
Every year, Florian Heyerick selects an instrument and brings together
specialists from home and abroad to provide the public with this baroque pearls.
This year it is all about the violin.
Expect next to concerts with cantatas, orchestral works and many chamber also an
Open Stage, a Telemarathon, lectures, city tours, a children's program, world
and jazz music, and many known and unknown masterpieces performed by a pleiad of
outstanding musicians on several attractive sites.
In between the quince makes for an equally refreshing and surprising culinary
discovery.

Folk barok zonder grenzen
Aurélie Dorzée en Tom Theuns schreven als leden van Panta Rhei, Trio Trad en Ambrozijn een aantal van de mooiste pagina's in de Belgische folkgeschiedenis. Ook hun carrière als duo oogt indrukwekkend. Niet voor niets werden ze in 2020 nog gelauwerd met de Flanders Folk Award voor beste live band.
Op deze zondagvoormiddag stellen ze hun zevende album voor, getiteld 7 (Homerecords). Met doordringend vocaal werk en een buitengewoon instrumentarium van onder meer viola d'amore, mandoline en mandocello componeerden ze een intens poëtisch landschap vol humor en fantasie. Hedendaagse folk barok zonder grenzen.
