Deze nieuwe tentoonstelling belicht het werk van enkele van de grootste kunstenaars die in hun tijd de schoonheid van de trein in hun werk hebben uitgedrukt: Victor Horta, Henry van de Velde, Paul Delvaux, Franquin, Santiago Calatrava, François Schuiten en vele anderen.
Bij deze gelegenheid worden originele tekeningen van Victor Horta met betrekking tot zijn werk aan het station Brussel-Centraal voor het eerst aan het publiek tentoongesteld. Rijtuigen uit de jaren 1930, ontworpen door Henry van de Velde, zijn speciaal voor deze gelegenheid gerestaureerd en worden exclusief tentoongesteld.
Tijdens de tentoonstelling zullen bezoekers op tekentafels en schildersezels enkele van onze mooiste treinen of een selectie van opmerkelijke of ongewone voorwerpen uit de collecties van NMBS leren tekenen. Zo kun je zelf het plezier ervaren dat deze grote kunstenaars voelden toen ze in contact kwamen met de treinwereld.

Cette nouvelle exposition sera conçue comme une mise en lumière du travail de certains des plus grands artistes, qui en leur temps, ont exprimé dans leur travail, la beauté du train : Victor Horta, Henry van de Velde, Paul Delvaux, Franquin, Santiago Calatrava, François Schuiten, ainsi que beaucoup d’autres.
A cette occasion des dessins originaux de Victor Horta relatifs à son travail sur la gare de Bruxelles-Central seront exposés au public pour la première fois. Des voitures des années 1930, conçues par Henry van de Velde, ont également été restaurées spécialement pour cette occasion et seront présentées en exclusivité.

This new exhibition highlights the work of some of the greatest artists who have expressed the beauty of the train in their work in their time: Victor Horta, Henry van de Velde, Paul Delvaux, Franquin, Santiago Calatrava, François Schuiten and many others.
On this occasion, original drawings by Victor Horta relating to his work at Brussels-Central station will be exhibited to the public for the first time. Carriages from the 1930s, designed by Henry van de Velde, have been restored especially for the occasion and are on exclusive display.
During the exhibition, visitors will learn to draw some of our most beautiful trains or a selection of remarkable or unusual objects from the SNCB collections on drawing boards and easels. This way you can experience for yourself the pleasure that these great artists felt when they came into contact with the world of trains.
