-1 Encounters: Noise Cancelling

Nieuwe Instituut presents -1 Encounters: Noise Cancelling. The evening opens with a performance and sound experience by Tonto, followed by experimental exchanges featuring researchers Pragya Jain, Miguelángel Clerc Parada and the Amsterdam sound collective CoreCore, led by Manuela Zammit.

Tonto
Francesco Zedde, better known as Tonto, calls himself “a musician with a computer, like a monkey in a spaceship.” A one-man band with a drum kit, digitally distorted voice and no guitar, Tonto explores the underground as a space for alternative forms of learning, reimagining sound, politics and society.
