Depuis plus de quarante ans, Michel Goyon (1963) développe une œuvre hybride et complexe, où expérimentations plastiques et références culturelles, artistiques et scientifiques s’entrelacent dans une quête perpétuelle de sens. Visionnaire, il puise son inspiration dans des domaines aussi variés que l’art contemporain, les mathématiques, les comics américains, la culture alternative, l’art brut et la science-fiction. Son travail, réparti sur près de 1400 pages de carnets illustrés, grands dessins et volumes, brouille les frontières entre réel et imaginaire.
L’exposition Arborescences, sous le commissariat de Thibault Leonardis et Roberta Trapani, propose une rétrospective immersive de Michel Goyon, couvrant l’ensemble de sa carrière à travers un parcours multimédia interactif. Une monographie, coéditée par Knock Outsider, le Art et marges musée et Patrimoines irréguliers de France, accompagne l’événement, repensant les frontières entre art brut et art contemporain.

Sinds meer dan 40 jaar schept Michel Goyon (1963) complex en hybride werk waarin plastische experimenten vervloeien met culturele, artistieke en wetenschappelijke referenties in een permanente zoektocht naar betekenis. Visionair laat hij zich inspireren door uiteenlopende domeinen als hedendaagse kunst, wiskunde, Amerikaanse comic strips, tegencultuur, art brut en sciencefiction. In zijn werk dat verspreid is over zo’n 1400 pagina’s geïllustreerde schriften, grote tekeningen en volumes, vervagen de grenzen tussen werkelijkheid en verbeelding.
De expo Arborescences gecureerd door Thibault Leonardis en Roberta Trapani, dompelt bezoekers onder in een retrospectieve rond Michel Goyon die zijn hele carrière overloopt aan de hand van een interactief multimediaparcours.
Bij het evenement dat de grenzen tussen art brut en hedendaagse kunst in een ander perspectief plaatst, hoort een monografie die uitgegeven werd door Knock Outsider, het Art et marges museum en Patrimoines irréguliers de France.

For more than 40 years, Michel Goyon (1963) has been creating complex and hybrid work in which plastic experimentation blends with cultural, artistic and scientific references in a permanent search for meaning. Visionary, he draws inspiration from fields as diverse as contemporary art, mathematics, American comic strips, counterculture, art brut and science fiction. In his work spread over some 1400 pages of illustrated notebooks, large drawings and volumes, the boundaries between reality and imagination are blurred.
The expo Arborescences curated by Thibault Leonardis and Roberta Trapani, immerses visitors in a retrospective around Michel Goyon that overlooks his entire career through an interactive multimedia trail.
