Beschrijving

Le destin de Dorothée de Lieven est le brillant miroir de la première moitié du XIXème siècle. Née à Riga en 1785, élevée à Saint-Pétersbourg, elle épouse à l’âge de 15 ans le comte (et futur prince) Christophe de Lieven, qui, en 1812, devient ambassadeur de Russie à Londres.

Les Lieven resteront dans la capitale anglaise jusqu’en 1834. Grande, mince, d’une extrême élégance et d’une distinction incomparable, parlant quatre langues à la perfection, pianiste de grand talent, elle devient rapidement l’une des figures les plus importantes de la société londonienne. Elle met son intelligence, sa vivacité d’esprit, sa compréhension des situations et des hommes au service de son unique passion : la diplomatie et la « haute politique ».

Christophe Juban, notre conférencier, a été formé à l’École Nationale Supérieure des Mines et a fait une longue carrière chez Total où il assuma la vice-présidence de la Gouvernance. Son livre sur Dorothée de Lieven a été publié cette année aux éditions Michel de Maule.

A unique collaboration between two living legends in the game: Evan Baggs & Francesco Del Garda. Vinyl culture at the highest level. For nearly two decades and fueled by a deep passion for recording digging, Evan Baggs has been breaking boundaries with an expansive sound on the outer edges of house and techno. The vibe is equal parts Berlin — his home since 2007 — and his hometown of New York, where a diverse underground scene first inspired his unique approach to DJing and music making since 1998. Francesco Del Garda’s passion for what he does is clear for all to see: he plays with a smile on his face and gets as much enjoyment from his work as the dancers in front of him. They like to get up close and personal, too, because his sets are filled with unknown gems, overlooked gold and speak of his obsession for unique sounds.
