2025 marks the 50th anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich's death. Is there a more beautiful tribute to this illustrious composer than a recital by Evgeny Kissin? For the third time, this master pianist comes to Flagey and in this special programme, Kissin performs Shostakovich's grand Second (and last) Sonata. Also on the programme are two of the famous 24 Preludes and Fugues from Opus 87, which the composer wrote with the music of Bach and Chopin in mind. And let these be precisely Kissin's favourite composers with whom he opens his dazzling performance.

Pour la troisième fois, ce maître pianiste vient à Flagey et dans ce récital particulier, il interprète la grandiose Deuxième (et dernière) Sonate de Chostakovitch. Au programme également, deux des célèbres 24 préludes et fugues de l'opus 87, que le compositeur a écrits en pensant à Bach et à Chopin. Précisément, les compositeurs préférés de Kissin qui feront l’ouverture de son éblouissante prestation.

In 2025 is het precies vijftig jaar geleden dat Dmitri Sjostakovitsj overleed. Wat is een mooiere hommage aan deze componist dan een recital door Evgeny Kissin? Voor de derde keer betreedt de meesterpianist het podium van Flagey met een uitzonderlijk programma. Hij brengt Sjostakovitsj' grootse Tweede (en laatste) Sonate, naast twee van de beroemde 24 Preludes en Fuga’s uit het Opus 87, die de componist schreef met de muziek van Bach en Chopin in gedachten. Toevallig zijn dat precies Kissins favoriete componisten, waarmee hij zijn wervelende optreden opent.
