Locked up in a body in agony, reason is no more. Nothing is under control.

Gestures intensify. The fight grows. Materializes. The body finds meaning.
Movement, more powerful.
Until the ultimate confrontation,
letting go,
He surrenders.
Releasing the body in a final breath. The cry reaches us. Audible.
Disarray, chaos and torment are sublimated. The body is abandoned.
The piece takes you into a world of raw emotions and intense sensations, carried
by Corentin Milosevic's infectious tribal movement.

Description
It’s just a phase
Performed by Jacob Bousset, Samuele Baschieri and Rünno Tammela
Choreographed by Nicolas Dang with the collaboration of the performers
There are, as appears, three white cis men sitting, staring at the audience. Their behavior towards us and each other is concealed by the repetitive Piano Phase of Steve Reich. With the music reflecting the repetition and performativity of societal norms, this vicious circle both in soundscape and in social settings sees three individuals' passage through moments of violence and vulnerability. This work draws to question the notion of masculinity perpetuated through the presence of gender norms and, consequently, the state of internalised homophobia. Using a play of contradictions and observing moments of sensuality and susceptibility, as the music of Reich begins to shift in conjunction with shifting power dynamics, we begin to see an abstraction of experiences and a transformation of these norms.
In Piano Phase, Steve Reich employs the compositional process of phasing or phase shifting. In unison two pianos play a loop, as one slightly accelerates, they progressively fall out of phase, creating an echo. It then becomes a new melody when the superposed loops are back in phase with a delay. It’s just a phase is a play between the 'phases’ in the musical score and the misconception of queerness as 'a phase’.
>
TW : sensual content, homophobia, mention of m@sturbation.

When an illustrated bestiary metamorphoses those who flip through its pages...
That's the story Julie and Johann invent while in the midst of moving, soon
joined by Barthélémy. The trio explores the palette of emotions universally
shared by the animal kingdom, humans included.
Social relationships and the animal world captivate Barthélémy Manias and Johann
Fourrière, alias Barjo&Cie. With Julie Querre in the team, the company relies on
the work of psychologists and ethologists to unfold a physical language of
emotional states. Involving both the face and the body, their choreographic
lexicon magnifies everyday gestures, evokes the bestiary of various cultures,
dares pure abstraction, and borrows some gimmicks from pantomime. "Human beings
are animals like any other, and like all species, we share, feel, and express
different universal emotions." Similarities and differences in behavior thus
become "an inexhaustible source to develop a clear and imaginative movement
language." Famous or unknown - from Rameau to Gottschalk, from Rossini to
Saint-Saëns - "animal scores" form the soundtrack of "Bas les pattes."

Maryse Condé wrote Tituba a fictional childhood, adolescence and death in her
award-winning book I, Tituba, whereupon philosopher Elsa Dorlin wrote an essay
on Tituba in Moi, toi, nous ... Tituba of de ontologie van het spoor.
When Dorothée Munyaneza was introduced to Elsa and her work, there was little
hesitance: she knew she wanted to create something around the figure of Tituba.
In this new solo, a dialogue with musician Khyam Allami, Dorothée Munyaneza
tries to breathe new life into the lives and dreams of Tituba. The men and women
whose identities and existences were denied and squashed by slave trade and
colonial regimes. Through words. Through the body. Through the space the voice
takes up, and through song.
Dorothée visualises a physical archive capable of gathering memories and
honouring them. A living, sensitive, physical and bodily archive, where
experiences are gathered. A solo conceived as a cross-pollination, a hybrid
space. African, but also American, European, Caribbean, ... A space full of
traces, dreams, and violence.

archief, waarin ervaringen verzameld liggen. Een solo opgevat als een
kruisbestuiving, een hybride ruimte. Nu eens Afrikaans, dan weer Amerikaans,
Europees, Caraïbisch, ... Een ruimte vol sporen, dromen en geweld.

Since their formation in Copenhagen in 2010, Selvhenter has stood out for its
unique line-up: two drum sets, a trombone put through a bass amplifier and a sax
that sounds almost unrecognizable due to a myriad of sonic manipulations.
Selvhenter's music is an overwhelming experience where powerful polyrhythms,
pop-like melodies and inventive sonic textures go hand in hand. Free
improvisation fuses with experimental electronic music, post-punk and noise. On
their new LP Mesmerizer, the quartet explores this unprecedented world like
never before.
Spëcht, formerly known as Hands in Motion, is considered Belgium's most
fascinating percussion trio. The trio virtuosically combines acoustic
instruments with electronic effects. Instruments from all over the world blend
together in their musical universe: darbuka, doholla, udu, gongs, kalimbas,
bendirs, etc. At Bozar they will present their new album Triptyques. Spëcht
envisions an immersive journey into uncharted musical territories. Prepare
yourself for a surprising concert that oscillates between catchy grooves and
intoxicating trance.

bedwelmende trance.

vier seizoenen? Vivaldi’s partituur ontstond exact driehonderd jaar geleden in
het Middellandse Zeegebied, waar verschillende continenten elkaar ontmoeten. In

Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons is one of the most well-known, iconic and
reproduced pieces of music; a veritable ‘hit’ of the classical repertoire. In
this new Rosas creation, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Radouan Mriziga set out
to explore this striking ode to nature and take the exquisite recording by
violinist Amandine Beyer and her ensemble Gli Incogniti as a starting point.
Both choreographers share a keen interest in the observation of nature,
geometry, and embodied abstraction. They also share a concern with our changing
and increasingly troubling relationship to our natural environment.
Contemplating the four seasons today brings to the surface the urgency of the
impending climate crisis. Can we even still speak of four seasons? In addition,
Vivaldi wrote this music three hundred years ago in the Mediterranean, a region
at the intersection of different continents. His score thus also invites
reflection on the circulations of knowledge, power, and histories this region
represents.
In this performance, multiple strands come together to create a unique
choreographic language. The piece aims to return to the core, the structure of
Vivaldi’s famous composition and the many associations and emotions it evokes,
while offering a choreographic counterpoint to it.

Antonio Vivaldi composed The Four Seasons 300 years ago. Can we still talk about
four seasons today? Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Radouan Mriziga draw
inspiration for their new creation from a recording of Vivaldi's iconic piece by
violinist and long-time Rosas collaborator Amandine Beyer and her ensemble Gli
Incogniti. De Keersmaeker and Mriziga created their first piece together as part
of Kunstenfestivaldesarts 2020, for the garden of La Maison des Arts. The
choreographers share a keen interest in geometry, embodied abstraction and the
observation of nature, while also sharing a concern for our changing and
increasingly unsettling relationship with the natural environment. The Four
Seasons moves them to further explore patterns, structures and elements found in
nature, as well as celestial configurations as possible starting points for
choreography. The piece returns to the core structure of the Vivaldi
composition, offering a choreographic counterpoint to the many associations and
emotions it evokes. As they reflect on the four seasons, the urgency of the
impending climate crisis is made painfully clear in a beautiful, contemplative
ode to nature in four chapters, presented by five bodies.

vijf lichamen.

Peut-on encore évoquer les quatre saisons aujourd'hui ? Anne Teresa De
