Greek roots of tradition- Music from mainland Greece

Description

Georgios Babanis- Accordeon
Panos Skouteris- Bagpipes, Voice
Alexandros Papageorgopoulos- Clarinet, Kaval

the soundscape of traditional music in mainland Greece is vast and diverse. The geographical structure of Greece, with much variation and many mountains, has contributed to the creation of all these different musical colors. Three friends from Greece, sharing the same passion for Greek traditional music, will perform songs and melodies with roots that go back centuries. They will play instruments from the past, as well as instruments that have shaped the traditional music over the last 200 years.
