Description

Het belangrijkste onderdeel van de ontwikkeling van een jonge musicus is optreden. Optreden met vrienden en bandgenoten, maar ook met meer ervaren muzikanten. Op deze manier hebben generaties van jazzmusici hun vak geleerd.

MidWest Radio x JJC is een concertserie met als doel het samenbrengen van de jongste generatie jazzmusici in Amsterdam, studenten van het Junior Jazz College, de vooropleiding van het Conservatorium van Amsterdam, en musici die al jaren actief zijn in de Amsterdamse jazzscene.

In 2021 organiseerden we al haar concert rondom de release van haar EP 'Haast je niet, vier het leven'. Il 20 Maggio 2024 ore 20 (Doors: 19) Lo spettacolo è in ITALIANO. 'PERFORMANTE' Tempi duri per i pigri e i poco mondani: non è più tollerata alcuna forma di ozio o di privacy, e oggi anche l’elettrauto sotto casa deve fare show business. Quindi manteniamo la calma e confrontiamoci con i temi che tediano le nostre pause pranzo: crisi climatica, iper-esposizione mediatica, ex compagni delle elementari riesumati come venditori di NFT, valutare se intraprendere la professione di neurologo o quella di streamer, la nostalgia di epoche vissute l’altro ieri, la suscettibilità estrema e il lavoro non retribuito dell’offeso telematico, la casa in campagna come unica possibilità residenziale, la motivazione dei guru disperati, la necessità di sentirsi un eroe e poi la speranza che, nonostante tutto, l’intelligenza artificiale possa risolvere tutti i nostri problemi, compreso quello della sua esistenza. Le certezze sono sempre meno ma, in un’epoca in cui siamo tutti chiamati a essere performanti, l’unico lusso al quale ambire è il tempo perso.

't Zonnehuis op z'n kop | Ietje & Fietje, het vergeten liedje (3+)

Ietje en Fietje zijn twee oude vrouwtjes die samenwonen, waarschijnlijk al hun hele leven. Ze hebben niet veel nodig, want ze hebben elkaar en hun fantasie. Hierdoor belande ze constant in de meest grappige en onsamenhangende situaties waarvan ze zelf niet weten of het voortkomt uit dementie of uit plezier, maar waardoor ze zich nooit vervelen en eeuwig jong blijven. Totdat de buitenwereld plots binnenvalt in de vorm van een brief: “Ietje, Fietje trek jullie baljurk aan, dan kunnen jullie samen naar het bal toegaan.” Dit veroorzaakt onrust en heisa in het huis van de vrouwtjes. Het Kleine Theater bestaat uit Vimala en Anke, allebei actrice. Na jaren te hebben gewerkt bij diverse theatergezelschappen, en in verschillende televisieproducties en films te hebben gespeeld, zijn ze in 2011 een eigen jeugdtheatergezelschap begonnen. Samen maken ze nu al ruim 10 jaar theater voor jong en oud. Er staan 15 voorstellingen op het repertoire, allemaal met veel humor, mooie muziek en gekke personages. De voorstellingen zijn gebaseerd op oude verhalen, liedjes of bekende sprookjes, waar een heel eigen draai aan is gegeven, zodat het niet eng is voor de kleinste bezoeker, maar ook zeker niet saai voor de oudste. ’t ZONNEHUIS OP ZIJN KOP is een jeugdtheaterreeks van Stichting Stadsherstel Cultureel om jeugdtheatermakers een podium te geven en ‘t Zonnehuis toegankelijker te maken voor de buurt. Kom op de derde zondag van de maand (van oktober t/m december 2023 en maart t/m mei 2024) naar ’t Zonnehuis in Amsterdam-Noord voor de leukste familievoorstellingen! Fantasierijk, vrolijk en muzikaal theater voor peuters en kleuters en natuurlijk hun (groot)ouders en begeleiders. We verwelkomen elke keer een ander gezelschap!

Snatam Kaur 2024 Heartflow Sacred Chant Tour Beloved devotional singer and Grammy-nominated recording artist, Snatam Kaur has announced her upcoming Heartflow Sacred Chant Tour. Beginning in spring 2024 with a series of concerts and workshops in Europe and Israel, the tour will continue through the US, Canada, and Latin America in the fall. Snatam is celebrated for her incandescent luminous voice and profound knowledge of mantra. Accompanied by gifted, versatile musicians, her concerts are joyous, transformational experiences providing participants an experience of the healing energy of the heart that can be activated by chanting. Audiences are invited to join Snatam in these deeply personal and jubilant sacred song journeys that arc from quiet introspection, to tapping into self-acceptance, self-love, self-awareness, and forgiveness, then arriving at a healing space of giving oneself over to mantra, before moving into the light of pure celebration, and finally a shared space of prayer and blessings. Snatam’s band includes her producer, Ram Dass (piano, clarinet, and vocals), Grecco Buratto (guitar and vocals), and Sukhmani Rayat (percussion and vocals). The group will be sharing music from their new album called Heartflow with a series of singles being released beginning March 15 and culminating in the full album release on April 5 2024. On June 9, Podium Mozaïek will be the stage for flamenco dance and singing talent from the Netherlands. An evening-filling program, full of passionate flamenco choreographies by up-and-coming and proven flamenco talents from 7 to 70 years old. Accompanied by the best flamenco musicians in the country, including Arturo Ramon. A gala for young and old full of dance, song and music. Expect surprises! Starts at 6 p.m Crema de crema flamenco musicians The live music is provided by the well-known flamenco musicians Vicente Jose Santiago (guitar), Arturo Ramon (guitar), Erminia Fernandez Cordoba (singer), Yota Baron (singer), Violina Violinist and Vangelis Chatzigiannis (singer). The Amsterdam flamenco choir Tiri Tiri accompanies a number of choreographies under the direction of Yota Baron. The choir emerged from the singing school that Baron started in 2019. They regularly perform at various stages and festivals, including the Spanish Film Festival. More than 70 participants from beginner to professional This year, more than 70 students from flamenco schools in the cities of Amsterdam, The Hague, Eindhoven, Leiden, Rotterdam and Utrecht are participating. The participants vary in age (from 7-70 years) and level from beginners to advanced; the majority have progressed. Several professional dancers/teachers are also part of the performances. The gala consists of original choreographies that they have been working on all year. Wat begon als een experiment is uitgegroeid tot een duurzame muzikale vriendschap. Bijna vijfentwintig jaar na hun eerste samenwerking delen pianist Michel Camilo en gitarist Tomatito opnieuw het podium voor een uitvoering van Joaquín Rodrigo’s beroemde ‘Concierto de Aranjuez’. Als twee muzikanten van het kaliber Camilo en Tomatito samen op het podium staan, is dat een gebeurtenis op zich. Dat merkten wij al op Transition festival 2019. Met hun riante muzikale bagage slaat het duo een brug tussen latin, jazz, flamenco en swing. Laat je door de muziek meevoeren naar de bruisende Caraïben en het zinderend hete Andalusië.
Mark Alban Lotz Trio: Turn on, tune in, drop out!

De knisperige hedendaagse jazz kan zich gelukkig prijzen met een nieuw trio. De fluitist Mark Alban Lotz vormde met bassist Zack Lober en drummer Jamie Peet een nieuwe groep. Wereldburger Mark leefde op alle continenten en is nog altijd en overal op zoek naar inspiratie en samenwerkingen. Deze nieuwe plaat ‘Turn on, tune in, drop out!’ is creative-jazz gebaseerd op psychedelische hypotheses van een LSD Guru. En dat klinkt precies zo.
