Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def and one half of the influential Black
Star, is (rightly) regarded as a legend within the hip-hop world. With his
musical versatility, astute lyrics and fluid flows, the artist wrote hip-hop
history with albums like Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star and the acclaimed
Black On Both Sides. In 2017, he put a stop to his musical career in order to
pursue other artistic endeavours.But one thing has always remained: his
outspoken love of MF DOOM’s rhymes. Bey often spoke of how DOOM’s complex rhyme
patterns and productions shaped his view of the hip-hop world. As a tribute to
MF DOOM aka Viktor Vaughan aka The Villain aka King Gheedorah or simply DOOM,

Krisy is a rapper with sincere rhymes, a performer with a suave voice and a
multi-disciplinary autodidact. So he’s a beatmaker, sound engineer, producer,
director and artistic director but, above all, he is a creative who is led by
love.Before he became the rapper we now know, he worked as a producer for
artists like Damso and Hamza and as a sound engineer for the likes of Lous and
the Yakuza, Shay, and Disiz. So he had a good grasp of what’s needed to be
successful. Building on his experiences, Krisy released a number of singles and
was noticed by Colors Studios. His first Colors session Julio & Sa Gogo Danseuse
(from 2017) has already been viewed more than 7 million times. His fluid flow
and lyrics that combine humour with a touch of sensuality really caught on. This
was followed by a series of singles and a debut EP, Paradis d'amour, in
2021.Krisy is not the type to get carried away by elation or allow himself to be
pushed to rush things, as he’s been teasing us with the arrival of his first
album Euphoria since 2017. It was worth the wait though, as the 22 track album
covers a range of feelings and follows the story of a rapper whose dreams of
stardom plunge him into a nightmare. The album is accompanied by a comic strip
illustrated by Hobooth. Each page corresponds to a track on the album.Now the

Het Kadoc KULeuven heeft een unieke documentaire in zijn bezit ‘Berberi’. De
Witte Paters maakten deze tijdens hun missie in Noord-Afrika in de jaren ’50 van
vorige eeuw. Karim van Kadoc geeft de nodige context bij deze beelden.

zijn Riffijnse leerlingen. Zijn ambitie is om izran toegankelijk te maken en
kennis over izran zoveel mogelijk te delen en te verspreiden. Gerard dook vooral
in alle geschreven bronnen over izran en analyseerde bijvoorbeeld ‘Dhar Ubaran’,
een lange izri die verslag doet van de eerste Rijffijnse overwinning op de
Spanjaarden…
