Description

Gypsy Jazz  Violin : Florin NiculescuViolin Frédéric ChaineGuitar : Rafael GouirandGuitar : Frédéric GuédonDouble bass : Vilmos Csikos Frédéric Chaine has invited for this concert the jazz violin star Florin Niculescu. Surrounded by exceptional jazz musicians they will perform this evening a repertoire of standards and compositions in tribute to the legendary “Quintet of the Hot Club of France” formed by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli.Florin Niculescu has developed his own unique sound and language, thanks to his solid classical training, but also with the experience of its many musical collaborations alongside thegreatest musicians. His impeccable violin technique and phenomenal virtuosity admired by all musicians and auditors, are never an end in itself, but the means to express his musical personality. Similarly, the obvious spiritual filiation with his idol Stéphane Grappelli (1908-1997) is in no way a limitation on his own expression, but rather a goad that drives him to innovation. One of the few European artists who performed at Carnegie Hall.Invited in 2007 to a tribute to the great pianist Oscar Peterson (who called Florin “the Carpathian Hurricane” after hearing him play) he shared the stage with icons of the jazz world : Hank Jones, Billy Taylor, Wynton Marsalis, Russell Malone, Christian McBride, Paquito D’Rivera, Mulgrew Miller, Lewis Nash, Houston Person, Clark Terry, Jimmy Heath etc.. VIDEO LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6o4uaOelJc TICKET: 20€ Members – No Members  22€
