Screening: Die Unbeugsamen II - Guten Morgen, Du Schöne!

Description

After his film about women who fought their way into political power in West Germany, Torsten Körner now takes a look at the other side of divided Germany. He shows women and their emancipatory struggles in the GDR, where there was similarly little evidence of female political participation. In the world of work, on the other hand, women were on an equal footing with men, as can be seen in the many great archive shots in his film. Interviews with female witnesses of those years, who remember their self-determination with amusement but full of pride, provide the testimonials.
