144' - VO Ciné-Club RITCS Anglais ci-dessous Film classique du réalisateur américain innovant John Cassavetes, avec sa femme et actrice régulière Gena Rowlands. Le film parle de théâtre, de rôles joués et de la façon dont l'art peut prendre le dessus sur la vie, même si c'est dangereux. À l'approche de la première d'une nouvelle pièce, la célèbre actrice Myrtle Gordon lutte contre l'alcoolisme, le trac et les préoccupations croissantes concernant le vieillissement. De plus, lorsqu'un de ses fans meurt, Myrtle semble définitivement détruite. Cassavetes enregistre la disparition psychologique d'une star avec une caméra caractéristique et impitoyable. La légendaire Rowlands a remporté l'Ours d'argent au Festival du film de Berlin pour son rôle.
