Version of Me

Tonny A's Version of Me is coming to Brussels!

Version of Me is premiering at Grand Hospice in Brussels on the 08th, 09th & 10th May 2025. Version of Me is a dance piece conceived and performed by French dancer and live artist Tonny A.

The solo performance is a sensual, physical and sensorial self-portrait which explores the concepts of identity and nature of self through a fusion of dance improvisation, butoh and performance art.

Set in La Chapelle du Grand hospice, Version of Me dissects, questions and ultimately recompose a fractured picture of the nature of self.

Tonny says: “Exploring my identity and my physicality is one of the constant themes in my work. With this piece, I’m looking into it from the inside, trying to tap into hidden areas of my body, into my senses, into my personal vision of my place in society, in the current artistic landscape to come face to face with the nature of myself. It’s not a revival. It’s not a plea. It’s survival.”

About Tonny A. :

Tonny A. is a French performer, dancer and live artist based in London. He makes live performances at the margins of dance, physical theatre and performance art. Through his work, Tonny is interested in pushing the conventional aesthetics of masculinity and in subverting the traditional codes around the representation of the (male) body. After performing his work for many years primarily in London, Tonny is branching out on an international level. Having performed at Tic Tac Art centre in Anderlecht, last Autumn, Tonny A. is thrilled to return to Belgium to share his new full-length piece with Brussels’ cosmopolitan audience.
