La réalité,
ce que nous en percevons,
nous le traduisons
en tanka. Nous le crions
et quelque chose apparait.

Un tanka est une forme courte de poésie japonaise découpée en 31 syllabes (5-7-5-7-7) qui révèle quelque chose qui jusqu’alors demeurait invisible ou inconnue: une émotion, une sensation, un souvenir, un désir, un fantasme. Dans ce duo, Kotomi & Ondine traduisent tout ce qu’il leur arrive lorsqu’elles sont sur scène. C’est une conversation où se mêlent passé, présent, malentendus, complicité et confusion.

Kotomi & Ondine se rencontrent en 2000 pendant leurs études à PARTS. Vingt-quatre ans plus tard, elles observent ensemble la distance entre leurs corps d’aujourd’hui et ceux d’alors, et se demandent si cette histoire est encore la leur, ou si elles en sont désormais étrangères.

A tanka is a short form of Japanese poetry cut into 31 syllables (5-7-5-7-7) that reveals something previously invisible or unknown: an emotion, a sensation, a memory, a desire, a fantasy. In this duet, Kotomi & Ondine translate everything that happens to them when they're on stage. It's a conversation where past, present, misunderstandings, complicity and confusion mingle.

Kotomi & Ondine met in 2000 while studying at PARTS. Twenty-four years later, together they observe the distance between their bodies today and those of the past, and ask themselves whether this history is still theirs, or whether they are now strangers to it.
