BANAD Festival - Riez House

Designed by Jean-Baptiste Dewin and completed in 1927 for the industrialist Joachim Riez, this Art Deco townhouse has been painstakingly preserved by the CDA insurance company. Its interior features the original decorative scheme and some of the furniture commissioned from the De Coene company in Courtrai, with which the architect regularly worked. The guided tour will include the entrance hall, the stairwell and the first-floor reception rooms, as well as the kitchen with its original decoration.

Construit par Jean-Baptiste Dewin en 1927 à la demande de l'industriel Joachim Riez, cet hôtel de maître Art Déco est aujourd'hui soigneusement préservé par la compagnie d'assurances CDA. Il conserve toujours des décors et éléments mobiliers d'origine commandés à la firme De Coene de Courtrai avec laquelle l'architecte collabora régulièrement. La visite permettra de découvrir le hall d'entrée, la cage d'escalier et les espaces de réception à l'étage ainsi qu'une cuisine au décor d'origine.

Dit herenhuis in art-decostijl dat in 1927 werd gebouwd door Jean-Baptiste Dewin in opdracht van de industrieel Joachim Riez, wordt nu goed bewaard door de verzekeringsmaatschappij CDA. De oorspronkelijke decoratie en meubelelementen van de firma De Coene in Kortrijk, met wie de architect regelmatig samenwerkte, zijn er nog steeds. Tijdens het bezoek zult u de inkomhal, de trappenhal en de ontvangstruimtes op de verdieping kunnen ontdekken, evenals een keuken met oorspronkelijke decoraties.
